I had one some years ago.
It was a blocked milk duct so will keep fingers crossed for you. flowers

Opto Obviously you're worried, and I am glad you are being seen promptly.

I have had breast cancer twice, and have been clear for 23 years. Like you I caught mine early. Both cancers were before the menopause. Many women survive breast cancer these days.

I wish you all the very best. flowers

Found lump when I was well past menopause. - I was 77 years of age, NHS acted quickly and it was a cyst. Did not need removing, Started to bleed quite lot and ab cream and an ab medication course sorted it out. This was the second time I had a similar breast lump problem AFTER menopause. Do not think age has anything to do with this. Most breast lumps are NOT cancer.

I went through this earlier in the year, of course you’re frightened. I wish you the best of luck tomorrow, they are very kind people at the clinics. x

I won’t tell you to stop worrying, because it is a perfectly normal reaction to something so frightening. But what I will tell you is that even if it is a cancerous lump, 75% of women survive more than 10 years and that I am one of them?.

I can vividly remember the panic and sheer fear before the diagnoses was confirmed, but once I was in the hands of the clinicians I found that I was able to off load some of the burden into their hands. I was still frightened of course, but went with the flow and am still here to tell the tale 18 years later. I was 57.

So, my very best wishes for a good diagnoses, but if it is the worse, remember the % are very much on your side.

Let us know how you get on.

Hi

I discovered a very small hard, round lump underneath my nipple last week which does seem to be moveable. Spoke to my GP and I have a 2WW appointment at the one stop breast clinic tomorrow which excellent service.

I have tried not to think about it much but then last night unable to sleep I started Googling it… big mistake!

I am nearly 59 and been through the menopause so all the reasons I thought the lump might be due to ie cyst, blocked duct seem highly unlikely.

Therefore does that mean that most lumps found in menopausal women are cancer?

Now worried sick…..

Thanks everyone
