My cardiologist has muttered about fitting me with a pacemaker for some time now. The results of a recent 48 hour tape has shown a mean daytime heart rate of 53 beats per minute and the mean night time heart rate as 38bpm. I don't have any dizzy spells or fainting episodes but he has made me an appointment for mid-March to discuss a pacemaker. I will be honest and say I am worried about both the procedure, as I will be awake!!! and life afterwards. Have any of you lovely Gransnetters any advice and pros and cons of having a Pacemaker?
