Whats actually is in the over 65s flu vaccine?

I am fine too. I had it on Saturday. Very efficient too. Much better than my old doctors.

OH and I had the vaccine on Saturday. We are both perfectly well, we always are.

I make a point of never reading the possible side effects of any medication. My mother consistently got side effects to everything until I instructed the pharmacist to give those leaflets to me when I collected her medication. I explained to her when asked that there was no leaflet supplied as there were no side effects. Worked a treat. ?

My husband was ill in bed for 3 days this time. I'm dreading getting it this Thursday.

Had mine a couple of weeks ago and had absolutely no reaction to it at all.

Slightly achey arm for a couple of days, that’s all.

Had my first ever flu jab yesterday. I was going to say absolutely no reaction, slept well, no sore arm Then I realised I've been feeling unusually sleepy and heavy eyed all day. That must explain it.

No reaction from mine 10 days ago.

Had mine yesterday, apart from a sore arm no other side effects.

I was the same after mine and don't usually have any reaction to flu jags. DM also felt a bit off but she had flu and covid booster. She blames it on her boasting that she never has a reaction after flu jag

I generally don't have a reaction to the flu jab. However, I got mine last week and felt so "fluey" the following day that I spent much of it in bed. It took about 3 days to feel back to normal again although my arm was sore for longer than that.

Bea There are also vast amounts of info online about Fluad, the recommended vaccine for over 65s, but I thought you'd have enough with the general stuff for the time being! Just do an internet search for Fluad when you feel strong enough, it'll all appear.

Inactivated flu vaccines usually contain very small amounts of egg proteins (ovalbumin), as the virus is often grown on hens’ eggs. People who are allergic to eggs should ask their doctor for advice. With specialist medical advice, they may be able to receive a vaccine with a very low ovalbumin content or the cell-based quadrivalent vaccine as an alternative to those grown on eggs. Inactivated flu vaccines used in the UK often contain very small amounts of the following ingredients:

Sodium and potassium salts, used as acidity regulators
Polysorbate, used as an emulsifier (to hold other ingredients together)

Fluad, the vaccine recommended for people aged 65 and over, contains a small amount of an adjuvant called MF59. Adjuvants are substances which help to strengthen and lengthen the immune response to the vaccine. The main ingredient in MF59 is squalene oil, a naturally-occurring oil found in humans, plants and animals.

Flu vaccines may also contain tiny traces of these products used during the manufacturing process:

antibiotics (gentamicin, neomycin, kanamycin or polymyxin), used to stop bacteria growing and contaminating the vaccine

Had mine last week No bad effects at all
slightly sore arm but wouldn’t have even thought about it if I hadn’t known I d had a jab there

No side effects at all.

Had mine on Wednesday..was told it contained 4 different flu viruses and an immune booster! I felt fine last year but this year have been very tired and had a thumping headache…now dissipated and feeling fine!

I don't care what's in it really and can cope with a few side effects on the basis that it works.

Just a sore lumpy arm this time.
But flu like symptoms for a couple of days last time.
I was told we had 4 flu virus in the inoculation. One was slightly different for over65 because it affected us differently.
That's all I know.

I thought that it was just ‘stronger’
