Has any one been advised not to take anti inflammatory meds with ramipril as I have? Told just to take paracetamol instead?

You need to talk to your doctor as taking them both can lower your blood pressure.

Once you are on long term pills, any other problems should be run past your GP first.
DH just takes Paracetomol, but has to go to his GP if there are any other problems.

Be very careful when taking any over the counter drugs with prescription meds. Always check with your doctor or pharmacist.

You should talk to your doctor about drug interactions.

As I am in Sweden I have access to the national pharmacology online guide and it says that anti-inflammatory drugs such as NSAIDs (Ibuprofen) and aspirin can interact with Ramipril and reduce its effectiveness.

I was told to avoid Ibuprofen when on blood pressure pills. Paracetamol is useless for migraine and back problems, though, so I reluctantly took Codeine when necessary, Codeine and Tramadol when it was really bad.

Yes, I was told that a while ago. Nothing like Ibuprofen, just Paracetamol should I need it. If you have a problem getting a GP to discuss medication with, then pharmacists are very knowledgeable and would help.

Same here - told not to take ibuprofen while on blood pressure pills - also told to be careful with things such as Voltarol for joint pain as this does also get into the system. When my knee is sore I now use Tiger Balm which I find at least as effective as Voltarol if not more so.
By the way Ramipril takers - I found it gave me an irritating cough so eventually had to have a different medication.

I’m taking Ramipril. My doctor prescribed Naproxen anti-inflammatory pills to me for my knee and shoulder pain. I take 5mg Ramipril and 250mg Naproxen daily. No adverse side effects. Funnily enough, I can’t take ibuprofen. Terrible on the stomach and caused black stools!

I don't take Ramiprimil but our GP will not prescribe Naproxen (unfortunately as it is the only effective anti-inflammatory, I find) and advised against using Ibuprofen too.
