I think it is worth seeing a doctor if you cannot get to a dentist, could be nothing important but always best to check new symptoms.

Something you ate or drank has probably irritated the roof of your mouth. My universal remedy for anything ‘mouthy’ is a warm saline gargle. Try that, while you’re waiting for your dental appointment. It can’t harm, can it. Salt is a good antibacterial agent - so I’ve heard

crazyH,

Thanks, I'll give that a try

minimoon,

no, it's not that, I haven't taken anything, it just flared up

Have you been taking antibiotics? I ask, because my husband always has thrush in his mouth when he takes them. He always asks the GP to prescribe something for thrush if he needs antibiotics.

Hi pollydolly,

No, no antibiotics at all

Have you changed any medication recently? My Mum used. to complain that her mouth was sore - this. was some years ago as she died a long time ago - and I have also had a change in medication and have noticed that my gums are sore. Just a thought and. I hope you get. some relief from the discomfort.

Hi everyone,

Has anyone had sores on the roof their mouth before? it started about a week ago and is towards the soft bit at the back, the pain has settled down now, but there is redness still, I can't get in at the dentist for a while either. Just curios as what this might be, if anyone has had anything similat
