Hello - I 70 years old and am currently taking Hiprex twice a day for UTI and it’s working amazingly well. My problem is I also have oesophagitis and need to take Peptac almost daily, the problem being Hiprex only works if urine is acidic and it says not to take at same time as antacids. My surgery said speak to a pharmacist, the pharmacist printed something off the net but it didn’t answer my query. Are any of you taking Hiprex and also have reflux - if so what are you taking to combat the dreaded reflux? Or is there anyone taking Hiprex and Peptac. I would really appreciate any help you can give.

my OH takes 2 pre and pro biotic capsules first thing in the morning before food .His acid reflux has disappeared since he started them.Might be worth a try for you, you could check with your GP

You could try Nexium available in supermarkets. It's an acid reducer not an antacid so should be fine. I found it to be very good.
