This always makes me think of my lovely (stubborn!) Mum who would smoke twice as many on No Smoking Day just to be awkward!

She smoked for over 70 years and somehow managed to live to be 97.

Best wishes to everyone who is going to try to give up. flowers

To everyone planning to stop smoking my very best wishes. My mum died of COPD and I wouldn’t wish that on my worst enemy.

Definitely. I have sent you a pm

I smoked from 16 into my 50s, finally managed to stop with the help of Nicorette gum BUT I was addicted to that for nearly 9 years!!

I've never smoked but my husband used to be a heavy smoker. He gave up about 35 years ago. It wasn't easy but he did it.
Good luck to all who are trying.

Hi Nikita80 I had no idea it was National no smoking day tomorrow. I really want to stop, but find it impossible. I have never heard of zyban, but will order some and join you in trying to stop. Wishing us both luck

Jaxjacky Tue 08-Mar-22 11:47:18

Best of luck Nikita80 it has to be you that decides, for your reasons ?x

My husband once said to a workmate who stopped smoking in January give me every week what you would spend on cigarettes and I’ll save it for you. By the September when she went to Las Vegas on holiday he gave her all her spending money back. She couldn’t believe how much there was.

Nikita80 Tue 08-Mar-22 11:31:38

Thank you!! I am ready for this plus have vast support

LadyGracie Tue 08-Mar-22 11:28:41

Wishing you very good luck, I smoked for years and gave it up when coming back to the UK, the duty even then was high,(1982).
I told everyone I knew that I was giving it up on a certain date and that did spur me on.

Nikita80 Tue 08-Mar-22 11:26:54

I used it a few years back and worked wonders. But then had a downfall and started again. Spoke to the family chemist and he recommended same product so I thought why not try it again. But I am determined this time, I spend far too much money a day. Plus I feel alongside my other problems it will help me become more healthier in general ?

Oopsadaisy1 Tue 08-Mar-22 11:09:13

Good for you.
Never tried it myself thank goodness, but it’s good that you are determined to give it up.
