Hiatus hernia

I found that tomatoes (and tomato sauce/juice, including on baked beans) and citrus fruit made things worse. Perhaps there are some foods that you could try avoiding to see if that helps.

I was diagnosed with hiatus hernia after gastroscopy. My main symptom is acid reflux, but Rennies help short term and Pantoprazole or similar helps prevent. Doesn’t affect my appetite much except I can’t eat big meals, or snack in the evening.
Your symptoms sound a bit different - feeling weak and wobbly is not usually connected with hiatus hernia. Hope you get test results soon and they sort you out.

Review your diet & avoid fatty food, pastry, chocolate or anything you recognise as a catalyst. Eat more salad and fresh cooked veg. Try little and often.
Eat natural bio yoghurt and try drinking Kaffir fermented milk which is like liquid plain yoghurt. Explore a pro & pre biotic supplement to try to balance your gut. Pharmacy might be helpful if you ask.
Don’t eat late & retire on a full stomach.
Ask Mr Google for advice. The more you research the more you will begin to understand the condition.
I found all of the above helpful and rarely suffer now.

Have a look at Gut UK. There is a lot of advice and information for people suffering from digestion issues. I also have a hiatus hernia and tailoring your diet to suit this is a big factor. I kept a food diary and wrote down everything I ate and drank and then wrote down any reactions after a meal. It helped me to find the triggers to avoid. Like a previous post, tomatoes are a big No No. Very acidic. I don't eat them in any form cooked or otherwise. I also take Omeprazole 10mg daily which works well but I still watch what I eat. I have a hiatus hernia, had it for many years now. I take Lansoprazole first thing in the morning then wait half an hour before eating anything or taking other medication. I get Gaviscon Advance on prescription and it’s excellent for dealing with flare ups. My biggest triggers are coffee and stress.

Everyone's triggers are different and for me acidic foods such as orange, and spices are the worst. My symptoms are almost gone by avoiding foods that trigger the indigestion.

Another HH here, Famotidine 20mg twice a day, Gaviscon Advance at bedtime, i still very, very occasionally get bad gastritis, it passes.
I imagine if you’ve not been eating properly you do feel weak, if the Pantoprozole isn’t working you need to have a chat with your GP, there are other medications.
