To quote Anniebach - This thread is for the support, understanding and sharing of all mental health problems.

HVDY Hope the Aqua aerobics was fun. It certainly doesn't feel muggy here today. Been pouring down all afternoon.
Annie You've been persevering with your cross-stitch, good for you. I've only half done mine but putting it down is fatal. Keep telling myself it's a winter snow scene so will pick it up again after Summer.
Scaredycat The sea is actually about 3 miles from us, though on a clear day we can see the top of the cliff from our bedroom.. It would be lovely to overlook the sea though, I agree. It's so healing isn't it? We took our son a 3/4 hr drive away for his car to be serviced today and spent time with him and GS in a nearby park most of the day till it was done. Was lovely for a few hrs though soooo tired now.

My bowel pain is nothing like it was and appears mostly OK so it's all so strange. But more concerned with uterus now. Trying to see GP for advice on what to do about late op. So stressed that I can't sleep.
Other son and wife coming down tomorrow but just for the day. Will see them more with GD in another week or so.
Hope everyone is OK.

Anniebach Mon 25-Jul-22 16:22:13

Hi all x

Scaredycat yes the ocean has healing powers, yes repeating myself- we are part of nature x

Sweetpeasue the x rays may give you the answer you crave x

HVDY I have forgotten what is in my wardrobe, haven’t been
able to look for over a year x

How is everyone ?

Scaredycat Mon 25-Jul-22 12:10:49

Annie- sounds like a workout to get into your wheelchair- hope your ankle heals soon so you can enjoy your garden in the better weather.
So happy you had a Birthday celebration with your Grandaughters and what lovely things they brought with them too. Watch out everyone when you get your speedy pants back on again!!!!
SweetPeaSue- I,m pleased the test wasn’t too stressful for you and hope that the results will help your peace of mind.
From what you say in your post it sounds like you can see the sea from your house- how wonderful if that is the case- my dream. The sea helped you feel better - it’s wonderful the healing power of the ocean.
You have some nice times coming up- having your sons together with you will be really special. I hope you enjoy every second.
HVDY- I,m sure you are right about the frame as my sister described that my nephew could rest his forearms in a sort of half tube and walk .
You have been busy again- the charity shops are going to be happy when they see you.
Enjoy Aqua aerobics this morning- iron as little as possible!!!!
Take care allxxx

HowVeryDareYou Mon 25-Jul-22 09:49:16

SweetpeaSue Glad your tests didn't take long. I hope you'll get some idea of the cause of your problems. I'm ok, thanks.

How is everyone this morning? It was a muggy night here (every window in the house open) and it's the same here, although it's only 18 degrees. Aqua aerobics soon, then ironing this afternoon. Hope everyone manages to have a decent day x

Sweetpeasue Sun 24-Jul-22 21:26:58

HVDY It's surprising how much stuff we can collect isn't it? I have loved clothes that I've kept for ages. Things I'll never get into, feel too old to wear?, and things I must have bought when my brain must have been addled! Had 2 Xrays and was in and out in minutes. Results should go to consultant in a couple of weeks. I just have a feeling they'll be normal. Not sure if anything can be gained by it really other than how fast my waste is going through intestines. Just glad to be able to take my painkillers again. Hope you're OK.

HowVeryDareYou Sun 24-Jul-22 20:48:59

Anniebach What a lovely birthday surprise to see your granddaughters. You're a very determined lady to carry on with your cross-stitch.

ScaredyCat Glad to hear your nephew is making good progress. The type of frame he's using might be one known as a gutter frame.

Doodle Hope you're continuing to enjoy your holiday. You missed the heatwave we had (it was horrible)

SweetpeaSue How did the test go on Friday? When might you know the results? You must be so looking forward to seeing your son. Great that you'll all spend some time together.

Joce345 Belated birthday wishes. Glad you had a good day with the family.

I hope everyone on BD has managed to have a decent day. I've now managed to sort out even more clothes and bags, filled 4 big black binliners. It can all go to charity shops, I can't be bothered to faff about listing things online and selling them. Son1 has been at his girlfriend's all weekend (he'll be back tomorrow after work). Son2 has had a romantic trip to Chester with his girlfriend, just the 2 of them. DH and I have been at home, pottering about. I vacuumed my car and did the bedrooms. Hope everyone has a restful night. x

Sweetpeasue Sun 24-Jul-22 19:54:19

Annie It's wonderful that you had a birthday party all together at last. I'm so pleased for you. Great idea having the Welsh flag on your wheelchair. Sticker so funny, as was the image of you determined to break free from bungalow and racing out in your pants. Sounds like GC thought so too. The cross stitch must be so hard with your hands. The finishing result will be a huge achievement that you can be well proud of. Why is it not raining in your village, how odd?
Doodle Thankyou for your v kind words. I think that wind has travelled over here. Its like a gale at present. Its blowing my plums off. (Oh, that sounds funny!) Hope your holiday has been wonderful.
Scaredycat Sounds like quite a struggle for your nephew to get about with the bad wrist too. I'm trying to imagine a Zimmerframe that accommodates his wrist. I can understand your feeling concerned about your sister when she's in remission. I hope your AF is not going to stay too long. Friday went well thankyou. In and out in minutes. 2 Xrays and that was it. I'm sure your sister is proud of you too. You have both been through so much together. Hard times can bring us closer can't they?
HVDY Hope you're OK today. So sorry your son didn't pass driving test. These examiners are so strict. Of course this means you will be doing more driving around too. Awful having to wait months to re-test! I'd no idea, really surprised.
Joce Happy Belated Birthday. Lovely having family around to celebrate.
EllieAnne Hope you're OK today and your GS had a lovely birthday.Did you manage to rescue the cake? I noticed you mentioned you had a broken hip some time ago. That sounds so painful. Thank goodness it's healed well. It must have been v painful at the time.

Well, I had a restless night and came down early this morning stressed and worried. I noticed tide was low so decided we'd go for a walk by the sea( notice who wears the trousers! - - not really) I felt so much better. It was lovely with the sun on the waves. It was very breezy but not cold at all. Son and wife coming down for couple of dys on Tuesday. He has some business to attend to also so will be lovely to see them. Other son is home too so it will be first time all together since Christmas.
Hope everyone is OK. Thankyou for all your good wishes. X

Anniebach Sun 24-Jul-22 12:41:34

Hi all x

Joyce Happy Birthday, so happy that you enjoyed the day, health anxiety is so cruel and I know how you have been troubled by it for so long , sending a cwtch x

Doodle can’t get out to my garden until I can use wheelchair,
the wheelchair is next to sofa, I slid along sofa , raise arm of wheelchair then wiggle my bottom from sofa to chair, have to
put one foot on floor to get on it, can only have pressure on one leg the other is twisted from arthritis, so have to wait for
ankle to heal on stronger leg, hopefully this will be soon x

HVDY No rain , it reached a village six miles away then stopped x

Scaredycat wouldn’t it be wonderful if we could all meet up ?
I am still cross stitching but very slow now because of hands
twisted but I will not give it up, thankfully no one can hear my swearing when I drop the needle ! The work I am on is a rather
large sampler, I seem to be drawn to challenges, no further yet with increase of solid food x

Friends I had a birthday party yesterday, my granddaughters turn up, wonderful surprise, Hobnobs and camomile tea ! they
remembered I use to love it, flowers, a photograph and a
sticker for the back of my wheelchair- ‘you have just been overtaken by our Grannie’ , and a Welsh flag clipped to back of
wheelchair too. I told them a neighbour was very kind in heatwave and came to close door at night , gave them the giggles as they said ‘did he see you the day you went out on wheelchair in your knickers ‘ .

How is everyone?

Scaredycat Sun 24-Jul-22 12:20:49

Joce- Happy Birthday for yesterday. So glad for you that you had everyone round to help you celebrate.
I didn’t know you had health anxiety and can sympathise so much with you as I too am plagued with it. Sometimes it can overwhelm you and other times you somehow manage to keep a lid on it but it is always there like a niggle that won’t go away.
We have a lovely day here today so I hope it’s the same for you and that you can continue enjoying your Birthday weekend.
Take care allxxxxx

Doodle Sun 24-Jul-22 01:39:00

Oh Joce wish I’d known. Belated happy birthday wishes ? x

Joce345 Sat 23-Jul-22 22:24:32

Doodle thank you I never stop with the heath anxiety sadly it who I am, I do try and get on with thinks it so hard sometimes but hay ho it’s how it is some good days some bad...hope you had a lovely holiday..
Scaredycat thank you not a bad day today how are you I’ve not read all the post yet I will catch up on everything.
Had a lovely full day yesterday it was my birthday so our home was full all day and late evening, I’m not complaining it was so nice to see everyone..
Hope all the BDG are doing well
How are you Annie
Thinking of you all ?

Scaredycat Sat 23-Jul-22 17:51:55

Annie- I missed you out!! Please forgive me. Perhaps like EllieAnne you have some rain today. Glad your shrubs have had some TLC from your carer- my garden is a bit crispy at the moment!!
Yes our poor NHS is really struggling at the moment and so many people who are frightened and worried are having to wait so long for help. I popped into the surgery yesterday to get some information and there was a man in there having a go at one of the receptionists - I felt sorry for both of them as he was frustrated and she was having to bear the brunt of it. But at least he was able to get about well whereas you have so many difficulties to overcome - I thought that Triage was to sort out priorities.
How is the eating going Annie? Are you able to manage anything different now? Are you still enjoying your cross stitching - you must have finished the one you told us about a few weeks ago.
So wish we could all pop round to see you - I think we are all there in spirit xxxx

Scaredycat Sat 23-Jul-22 17:39:33

SweetPeaSue- thank you for your kind wishes- yes I think it will take time for my nephew to recover but today my sister says he can move about with the help of a Zimmer that accommodates his plastered wrist. I do love my sister very much and so proud of how she deals with every difficulty life throws at her.She is in remission at the moment so needs to take care but like all us Mums she needs to help her children when she can.
You are right there are some lovely people on GN who dispense wisdom and kindness to those who are struggling.
I hope Friday went well for you and you have haVe had
a comfortable day today.
HVDY- glad you enjoyed a lovely chatty time with your friend- you must have haD loads to catch up,on. It’s a pity your son failed his test - it is such a nerve wracking thing to do though. He,ll be better next time and hope it isn’t too long to wait. One of myDGD took hers 5 times!!
Ellie Anne- hope yo7 enjoyed your rainy walk. I quite like walking in the rain - I like the noise it makes on the umbrella.
Sorry about your cake disaster - it happens to us all. I agree with just covering it with cream and sweeties - he will love it.
Try not to worry about it too much xx
Doodle- lovely you are here. Oh it’s not easy walking on deck with strong wind is it. I bet the scenery has been wonderful though. I ,m still enjoying walking but this week have felt very tired so not as far as normal. AF has returned today so it was a mini walk!!
At least you missed that awful heatwave and when you come home the weather should just be nice and warm- hope so. X
Joce- hope you are ok todayx
Love to allx

Doodle Sat 23-Jul-22 14:55:45

Hi all.
Scaredycat I do hope your nephew does well in his recovery and your sister does not try and overdo things in trying to help him. It’s what mums do though isn’t it.
Hope you are enjoying your walks. We are not walking much on board but are enjoying the scenery and the quiet q’d stillness. (when it’s not blowing a gale) ?
Sweetpeasue I think you put yourself down a lot. You are a kind person and although you have your own problems you are thoughtful and considerate to others too. Hope the pain is keeping a low profile at the moment.
Joce you have been part of this thread for a long time now. I’m glad you keep in touch. We all think of those who post regularly and those who post now and again. I also think of those we haven’t heard from for ages and I hope that means they are getting on with life and are in a good place. Hope you are ok and your health isn’t causing you anxiety.
Ellie Anne I am one of the worst bakers. Is your cake not recoverable as HVDY suggests with a bit of extra icing or chocolate buttons.? I’m sure it will be appreciated as you have made it. Do you have time to try again if you’re really not happy with it? Hope your DGS has a good birthday. How old will he be?
HVDY hope you have a nice time with your friend. Sorry your son didn’t pass his test. Many don’t but the trouble these days is the long waiting list. My DGD failed first time. DGS due to take his soon but it keeps being cancelled. Hope your son can book a new test soon.
Annie it is awful there is such a long wait for NHS services these days, as you say, MH services are really stretched. So awful for people who don’t know where to turn in their need for help.
So pleased your carer is so nice. Have you tried getting out into your garden recently? I wish you could go and sit with your plants and tend them. x
Take care all x

HowVeryDareYou Sat 23-Jul-22 12:48:22

EllieAnne Could you cover the cake with icing or buttercream? Or served it broken up with ice cream? I bet your grandson will be happy that you've attempted to make him a cake, anyway. Perhaps the couple is simply having a clear-out? I've just been trying to clear out some cupboards/wardrobes. All clothes that don't fit (and never will now). 15 bras, 11 dresses, various skirts, 6 coats, and a lot of other stuff.

Anniebach It's warming up a bit here. I'm going to plough on with the clearing-out of unwanted stuff, after lunch. There are about 50 LPs to get rid of and yet more shoes and clothes. It's ridiculous to have kept all this stuff all these years. Are you a bit more comfortable with the weather?

Anniebach Sat 23-Jul-22 11:39:18

Hi all x

How is everyone?

Ellie Anne Sat 23-Jul-22 11:39:16

We have rain today but am going for a walk anyway. Birthday cake I’m making for grandson is a disaster and I’ve been in tears over it. I know I am being ridiculous but it’s how I feel. My neighbours have a skip and are clearing their garage . I ve a feeling that they may move which is a shame as they are a nice young couple tho don’t know them well but help each other out when needed. I don’t like changes.

HowVeryDareYou Fri 22-Jul-22 17:14:43

Anniebach The sun has come out here but it's not scorching hot, thankfully. Your carer sounds very compassionate and kind. I loved that type of job and did it for many years. So rewarding to be able to make a difference to someone.

I met my friend, we chatted non-stop for 3 hours. Son1 failed his driving test, for not looking in the mirrors enough. Oh dear, he'll have to apply again, but the waiting list is months. He's going to see his girlfriend later. DH and I are going to go out to a local pub for dinner soon.

Has everyone been ok? x

Anniebach Fri 22-Jul-22 16:55:15

Hi all x

Thank you for your replies re my wait for physiotherapist, I will not comment on the wait anymore, listening to the news
this morning - a man with young children waiting for op for
serious heart condition for two years, cause of delay Covid . And the need for mental health treatment is very high, cause
Covid, mental health charities are working so hard to give support .

HVDY no, it isn’t raining in Mid Wales, my lovely carer has been wonderful keeping my shrubs watered.

How is everyone ?

HowVeryDareYou Fri 22-Jul-22 11:11:00

It's a lovely morning - nice and cool, with a bit of rain smile. How is everyone?

Anniebach Have you got rain? I hope you're more comfortable.

Doodle So kind of you to think of everyone when you're on holiday.

ScaredyCat I'm glad your nephew has had his injuries dealt with. I hope he will recover quickly. Yes, I feel a lot better, thank you.

SweetpeaSue Wishing you all the very best today, hope the test goes well.

Joce345, EllieAnne, everyone on BD - hope you manage to have a decent day

I'm going out later, to meet a friend who used to help out at the day centres I managed a couple of years ago. She's in her 80s, very sprightly and fit, and a lovely lady. Son1 has got his driving test this afternoon. I do hope he passes.

Ellie Anne Thu 21-Jul-22 23:26:23

Sweet pea sue I broke my hip 8 years ago and they decided to do a repair instead of replacement. I recovered really well and have been fine. He is younger. I’m sure he will do well.

Joce345 Thu 21-Jul-22 23:02:08

Evening all, I would like to thank you all so much for caring, it do mean so much when you know someone is there to listen and understand thank you...?
Hope everyone has a peaceful night sleep

Sweetpeasue Thu 21-Jul-22 20:22:26

Annie So now you're back to square 1 - - -waiting for a physiotherapist. Again. Maybe this time you won't have to wait so long, we can only hope. I'm concerned for you. But as you say you're Welsh! You've done battles with the council and won. I'm so sorry. You shouldn't have to cope with all this. You must get so frustrated. At least it's cooler. Now all you need is rain.
HVDY Id not realised you'd seen your GDs play.I know what you mean about watching the little ones. It grips your heart and they're so beautiful and innocent. I hope you're feeling a bit better. We have an Asda here and hardly ever are all pumps working. Grrr.
Scaredycat Just stunned at what you said about my posts, as I always wish I had your warm way with words. It's very touching to feel such caring here on BD.
I hope your nephew will get better soon though it looks as if it will take time. Your love and affection for your sister sounds very special and I hope, as you do she won't do too much.
Doodle Thankyou so much for your kindness. You have such a good way of saying things. I'm so moved that you pray for me. You take the trouble to concern yourself with so many others and their problems and I know you have anxieties yourself. Do enjoy the rest of your holiday. You must need a break from us lot. ?
*EllieAnne and Joce*Thinking about you and wishing you both peace.

I was about to refer to another thread but erased my words. Been reading of a dreadful predicament on GN and desperately wanted to post but couldn't pull myself together to properly do it. It brought back such memories though I have bad dreams still. I so wanted to be of help, yet couldn't string 2 sentences together. I believe there were such good posts so am relieved there was help from other lovely people. GN can be such a good place when we are kind to each other.

Hope everyone has a peaceful night.

Scaredycat Thu 21-Jul-22 17:15:28

Hi everyone
HVDY-glad the play went well you must have felt so proud.
I so envy anyone with lovely teeth your GD must have a beautiful smile.
My nephew had surgery on Monday - a repair not a replacement. I think this will take him longer to recover from than a replacement.

You must have been pleased to get back to the day centre and your friends- not to mention the lovely meals. Hope you are feeling a lot better now the weather has cooled down a bit
Annie- so sorry that your Sil,s family are going through the nightmare that suicide carries in its wake. It must have been very upsetting for you to hear that news.
What a shame your Daughter couldn’t visit with you . Hope it’s not too long before she is able to come.
Yes my poor nephew - but I,m more worried about my sister though as I,m scared she,ll overdo it trying to help him.
No wonder you are an unhappy ? Is there no one at your surgery who could actually come out and see how you are living at the moment and arrange the correct help. It makes me feel so cross when you are struggling daily. Sending a hugx
SweetPeaSue- so glad the Book Club went well and an additional bonus to have coffee by the sea with a potential new friend. Well done you!
Lovely post from you to Joce- wish I could put thoughts into words as well as you do.
Joce- good to hear from you. I,m sorry your Anxiety is causing you to feel so low. I,m sad you feel really down and hope that happier times lie ahead for you. We are all here for each other and will always listen . Take carex
Doodle- good to hear from you and hope you are enjoying all your ports of call.
Yes it was an awful thing to happen to my nephew and a terrible shock for my sister.
He’s had his hip repaired and his broken wrist plastered but of course that will be awkward if he has to use crutches! Thank you for your kind thoughts.
Happy sailings
EllieAnne- hope all is ok with you today
Hope you all have a cooler evening and better sleepxxx

Doodle Thu 21-Jul-22 16:28:51

Hi all. Sorry to have been missing so long. We have been out of internet range.
Sweetpeasue, sharing your thoughts and feelings with those on BD is what we are here for. We care about how you are feeling and so sorry you feel (and have been) very let down by the NHS. We may not be able to do anything positive for you but we can always listen, care for you and in the case of those of us who have faith, pray for you. I am in many ways supportive of the NHS because they have done well in looking after DH. However, I do feel you have been badly treated and let down and I hope at some point, when you feel up to it, you can follow up with solicitors and get some answers. Please take care. Glad book club went well.
Annie I’m so sorry your DD didn’t come. Hope she makes the trip soon. Also very sorry to hear the sad news from your brothers family. It must have affected you so much too.
Not more NHS incompetence. What a shame you have to wait longer for the physio. Hope you get an appointment soon. We haven’t had the heat you have all been suffering here. I hope you and your dogs were ok .
HVDY I bet your DGD did well in her play. I always get a lump in my throat when watching children too. Glad you had a good time at the day centre and the weather is a bit cooler for you all.
Scaredycat what a lovely thing to say to Sweetpeasue. You are right, we are friends and here for each other. So sorry about your nephew. What a dreadful accident, Hope he’s not in too much pain and they get his hip mended soon. I hope your sister is coping ok. At least she has you to talk to.
Hope he is on the mend soon.
Ellie Anne you are kind to think of others too as life is not easy for you. Have you any plans to go away anywhere for a bit of a break?
Joce sorry about you still feeling low. Your worries and anxieties are valid. Sometimes it’s hard to tell others. Our personal feelings and thoughts are the most difficult to share sometimes. You don’t have to say what’s worrying you, we still care and know how that feeling is even if for other reasons. I hope your spirits lift soon.
Take care all. Thinking of you and will be back when I can. x
