Just a quick message. DH has typical symptoms of heavy cold. I feel absolutely dreadful with flu aches everywhere. Could not get out of bed today. Neck, bones, skin, nausea. Bowel. Bladder you get picture.
Rang hospital this morning. She said can keep appt if negative, even if DH pos but its not poss while in this state. Appt left open for now. How all have had decent day. X

SweetPeaSue- oh dear what a dilemma !, so,sorry your DH has Covid ,hope he,s not too poorly. Good you are negative at the moment but perhaps as Doodle says you could ring the hospital,and see what they say. It would be such a shame to miss your test after waiting so long. Hope your pain has eased off today.
Doodle- so glad you had better news yesterday and that at last there is a ray of hope .
How nice for your DH to be with all the family to celebrate his birthday. There is nothing better than all being together.
I had a FT with my son this morning and hopefully will be able to see him soon- fingers crossed.
HVDY- Mr Cooper has a sweet face . My daughter would love him as he looks like her little cat they lost this year.
We,ve had rain today too- I got a bit wet walking to post a letter.

SweetpeaSue You've been doing so well recently. I hope you haven't got/won't get Covid. After all this time, the hospital test you're due to have is really important.

Doodle My brother could easily afford to have a hernia operation but refuses to spend any money (he's very tight with everything anyway). The prosthetic leg he's recently had doesn't go all the way up to his groin as the others did. He seems to be getting on well with it.

I went to aqua aerobics this morning, then it absolutely poured with rain when we got out. I'm going to ring my lady soon, for a chat. Hope everyone is managing to have a decent day x

Mr Cooper is doing very well. He woke me up at 5. 30

Evening all. Been with family this afternoon celebrating DHs birthday. Had a lovely day. So nice to have them all together.
HVDY I wouldn’t have thought a hernia was a good thing to have with a prosthetic leg. That perhaps the muscle movement with the leg causes problems it’s the hernia. Hope your brother is ok. Sounds as though you had a nice family day too. Sleep tight Mr Cooper. My brother was a lot older than me too. We got on really well though. Sadly he had dementia at the end.
Ellie Anne if you are that badly anaemic then it may be affecting your mood and your depression. You may be so tired you don’t have the energy for things which could lower your mood. I hope the iron helps. As Annie says, you are not a failure.
Scaredycat my DGC all love the brownies. I must confess they come in a packet Betty Crocker and I just add the required extras and bake. Not much of a baker myself.
You obviously have a wonderful bond with your sister. I hope you get to meet more often. Glad she is doing well.

It is possible you have Covid too. I would phone the hospital in the morning and see what they suggest. What terrible timing. I’m so sorry you’ve been in pain again. I hope it eases off. You’ve been doing so well.
Annie how have you been today? I hope the family come to terms with MT s decision. At least she has you on her side.
I had better news of family today. Not out of the woods by any means but there is hope. Hope is what we all cling to.

EllieAnne Glad you're on iron tablets but hope they're not causing havoc with your tummy. I'm sure the anaemia will not be helping your very low mood. As Annie has put it so well you're not a failure for so many reasons. I know I couldn't have driven for so long or stayed in a strange house alone. Don't listen to that inner critic( it's hard I know).
Annie Hope you're OK today and the ankle is not hurting you too much. Not been as hot here so hopefully it's not too bad where you are.
HVDY Poor Mr Cooper. It's so sad. I'm sure you forgive him the early mornings in the circumstances. Sorry you're not feeling well. An early night might help.
Scaredycat I think it would be lovely to live with a river view too. Do hope the AF is behaving for you today. Its lovely that you and your sister facetime each other. What a relief she's in remission from whatever it is, I didn't know she'd been very poorly. You must be so relieved to see her well.
Doodle I'm a real chocoholic but think I've only ever made Brownies once, which is strange. I can't remember how I did them now. I know there are a lot of recipes out there. Your family must love them too. Hope you're OK today.

Had 2 nights of bladder pain and last night also very sick. Held off Oramorph as long as I could as can't take laxatives because of test but took it in the end. Husband started with sore throat and cough on Sat night. Didn't think too much of it but after symptoms of heavy cold he took a test today and covid positive. I've had bad headache today and really feel sick though tested negative. I took my first marker tablets today(2 more tomorrow and Tuesday) before XRay Friday BUT, its not looking good is it? I've got stiff neck and tickly throat but it's the feeling sick(marker tablets have no side affects). I can't go into hospital if I test positive. Will have to keep testing daily. The 2 new strains of Covid are quite widespread at present. We took my auntie shopping on Sat! ?‍♀️

ScaredyCat My brother (he was the eldest of 4 of us, me the youngest) is 12 years older than I am. He was married when I was 6, so our childhoods weren't spent together, but it's all ok. Mr Cooper woke me at 6 this morning. . I'm glad your sister is doing well at the moment.

Anniebach I hope you're ok. Did you watch any of the Glastonbury? I only watched Paul McCartney - 3 hours at the age of 80!

How has everyone been today? I've felt a bit odd today - muzzy head, feeling weak and shaky. Not sure why, but I've done very little today. Changed my bed, done 2 lots of washing, that's all. Perhaps an early night might be a good idea x

Got hols washing done so quickly as the weather was so good for drying. Only iron things that really need it!!
Yes My sister and I Face Time every week for a couple of hours. We had a good chat this morning- it ,s wonderful to see her looking so well. She is in complete remission at the moment and living life. I love her so much.
HVDY - what a lovely evening you had together - so pleased that they could make it. It’s so good to reminisce with your siblings as they shared your childhood and growing up like no one else.
I can’t meet my sister halfway as it is both too far and she doesn’t drive any more. We try to see her at least once a year and stay for a few days. I love her very much.

something for the wedding then bought a beautiful posh frock,
that certainly is not a failure, you did a 5 hour drive, stayed in
a house alone , not a failure , no way, please stop being harsh
with yourself please x

When I went to dr about chest pains I had blood tests which showed that I was badly anaemic. Am on iron pills.

Sweetpeasue I'm pleased you enjoyed your time with your sister. You're doing well . Keep going. x

Anniebach One of my sons once bought me a "Slanket" - it's a blanket with sleeves, from Amazon. Lovely for cold evenings. x

Doodle Your flat with views of the river sounds gorgeous. My brother is getting on ok, thanks. He got a new prosthetic leg recently, made differently to his previous one. He's waiting for a hospital referral about his hernia, which frequently causes a lot of pain and discomfort. I hope your husband is keeping ok. Mr Cooper is showing signs of Dementia - meowing for no reason, going into the kitchen and staring at the (empty) oven. x

EllieAnne Depression can make us have feelings of being a failure. Things haven't been going well in your life recently, and you've been anxious and low. You aren't a failure. x

ScaredyCat Would you be able to meet your sister halfway somewhere? x

Well, my brother and his wife came round - my husband cooked 2 different curries and we had the usual accompaniments then cheesecake. They hadn't been here for so long only because he hates the path - we live on quite a slope. We all chatted a lot, reminisced about our childhoods, first jobs, music, etc. It made a nice change. Hope everyone has a restful night. I hope Mr Cooper might sleep in until at least 7am tomorrow x

Yes we love our balcony. I would find it hard to live in a flat without any outside access. Overlooking the river is lovely. We are happy here. I feel very blessed with our home.
Sorry you don’t get to see your sister much. You obviously get on well. Do you face time a lot?
Ellie Anne I kind of know that feeling you mention. Having worked or planned for something and it doesn’t work out as you’d hoped. You sound exhausted and down. I hope you are ok. Life does not seem to be good for you at the moment, I hope things improve. I doubt very much it’s anything to do with you being a failure, more circumstances beyond your control. Take care.
HVDY I hope your brother does make it. How is he doing these days? Mr Cooper is an early riser. Does he sleep most of the day?
Annie I can understand how this can open old wounds. If your family liked MTs partner it must be difficult for them to understand her reasons for ending things but no one knows what’s going on. If MT was unhappy she’s a wise girl to have ended it now. I feel sorry for them all.
I hope you don’t get cold without anything round your legs. Do you wrap up in a blanket?
How can sitting on a sofa hurt your ankle. The physio isn’t being sensible.

Scaredycat Thankyou for your very kind words. It is so true that beautiful scenery and countryside is uplifting. My sister is an hrs drive away but we meet in the middle and have lunch. We'd just started to do this and met half doz times when I got health probs but it felt wonderful to do it again. Hope you get to see your sister soon.
Annie Completely agree with Scaredycat at the image of yourself in T-shirt and pants! I hope you can get somewhere for MT soon. I really don't like the sound of that ankle. Hope you will mention it to your carer. Not sure how much she can advise. Don't let it get worse though.

SweetPeaSue- it’s so good to hear that you are getting out and about again and been to see your sister. What a lovely journey it must be to go over the moors. Beautiful scenery is so uplifting and inspiring. I do hope you had a lovely time together - sister time is so special. My sisters house is one of my happy places and I wish I could be there more often but she is a long way away.

Thank you for your kind words. Still flat hunting ! Would like to add, my grandchildren had to come to turns with their mother leaving the family home then her suicide, this happening with Mini Tornado has opened old wounds , they are reliving the pain of someone leaving .

Doodle you wear light trousers, I wear tee shirts and knickers , no skirt or trousers, I did wear cotton trousers when I went out with the occupational therapist, unlike the morning I went
out in just knickers and my carer raced after me with a wrap !

Ellie Anne I sleep for over an hour every afternoon.

Scaredycat the physio called yesterday, she said I had hurt my ankle because my sitting position on the sofa isn’t correct !
No, it was caused by her demanding I stand on one leg ,grrrr,

It's another sunny, warm day. Mr Cooper woke me at 5am. My brother and his wife are meant to be coming round for dinner this evening - he hasn't been to my house since October before last! I'm expecting them to cancel later on, but we'll see........

I’m not great. I’m so tired and keep falling asleep. Maybe it’s the anaemia.
Something happened tonight that’s made me feel a complete failure.
I’ve tried so hard and things haven’t worked out.

Annie- obviously MT has tried to make her relationship work but kept it to herself. It was a bit selfish of her siblings to be cross with her as she needs their support rather than disapproval as she has a lot to deal with. I,m glad her sister is now more understanding of the situation. She must be so grateful for your help but see after yourself too Annie you have so much stress right now.
So you hurt your ankle when the physio made you try to stand- why can’t they appreciate your situation with more compassion and use a bit more common sense.
Well done with the Council battle. You are such a strong person.

Doodle I get days like that too. Especially when it's warm. I'm fine today Doodle. My second day when I've gone out alone. Ist to book group and today to meet sister. As I drove over moors to meet her amongst the beautiful shades of the landscape I felt so blessed. I really felt I had turned a corner. Through the last 3 months of really bad bowel pain I genuinely thought I was going to lose my bowel or something horrible. I know I've still got some problems, but I am so grateful for every day now. I took Flaxseed with me to sprinkle on my sandwich! I'm drinking prune juice too! Fingers crossed. Hope you're OK Doodle, and your DH. He must have been very pleased you fixed his camera bag. X

Annie I’m sorry about MT. No one outside of a relationship can know what goes on behind closed doors. If MT was unhappy it is better for them both that they get a chance to move on.
I hope the rest of the family come to realise that soon.

Sweetpeasue how are you today. I seem to have been busy all day without achieving anything. I did manage to fix DH’s camera bag though. The strap had fallen off.

Oh dear Annie. You will be so worried about the situation. MT can't be expected to please others about her own personal affairs though. That's really not on at all. I do hope you manage to get her some accommodation. I agree it will be diddicult to sort out so quickly. Does she have a friend in this city that could share for a short while?
It sounds as if the physio may be pushing you too far. I don't see how you can be expected to stand, let alone with a poorly ankle. Sorry if you've already said, but did you have the ankle X-rayed. If your bones are brittle with no weight bearing for a long time there may be damage. I'm so sorry you're in such a bad way.
You've won your fight with the council? Congratulations. At least something going right. I hope you can get that ankle sorted out though. It really shouldn't be left to deteriate and you should not be left in pain. So hope things start looking up for you soon. X

I haven’t forgotten you, my Mini Tornado has big problems ,
she ended her relationship with her partner two weeks ago, he has become part of the family, her brother, sister and father were angry with her, no thought given as to her unhappiness,
it opened old wounds caused when Catherine left the family home. Her sister has now listened to me and accepts she was wrong, not my grandson.

Her ex partner has decided he wants to leave their apartment in July , Mini Tornado didn’t tell anyone she has been unhappy
for over a year and couldn’t take anymore.

Mini is now going to be homeless and Thursday was told she starts work in the job she has been waiting for since she had her degree, she starts next Monday, no pay for a month , petrol for
45 miles a day !

I am trying to find somewhere for her to live, I assure you looking for a studio flat in a city with a university is proving
so difficult , find one, ring agents - gone,

Week before last physiotherapist insisted I stand to get in wheelchair, no matter I haven’t been able to stand for two years, ankle still very painful so more than a sprain.
Back to hunting for a flat now.

My positive , Won battle with council - again .

Scaredycat I have some very thin light weight trousers I wear when it’s hot so I’m fine. I wouldn’t want to show my legs (even from the knee down) to anyone. ?
We haven’t been out walking today as we’ve been visiting family. When it’s too hot we usually go early evening instead.
What a lovely thing for your neighbours to do. It’s sounds as though you are lucky where you live with the people around you.
What a lovely treat to have lunch with your daughter. Hope the AF settles soon.
Sweetpeasue glad you had a better night and are going out again. Good that you enjoyed your book club. I have never been to one but often wondered what they were like.
We’ve been out most of the day and I’m surprised how tired I am. Not used to being in company for so long. Had a good day and lots of chat.
HVDY we have had two real downpours today. I think it depends where you are as the showers seem very localised.
It has been cooler which I find easier. Hope you have had a good day too.
