HRT - pros and cons

I started on oestrogel and utrogestan 100mg at the end of April. I am 66 and last took HRT between 48-50. After this time I stopped having hot flushes and night sweats and all seemed well through my 50’s. But after 62 my joint (osteoarthritis) and muscle pains worsened considerably and with a history of osteoporosis in my family my GP agreed to me trying HRT again. I also started Amlodopine BP medication at the same time.

The plus side is that I am sleeping very much better than I have in my entire adult life. I have noticed a small improvement in my joint and muscle pain, anxiety and my hair but it could be the time of year as it is better in the summer months.

On the minus side I have developed bad eczema for the first time in my life and I am struggling to lose weight prior to a cruise holiday in August. But yesterday I was aware of mild pain in my pelvis which has resulted in some bleeding which has never happened post menopause.

What are others experience of this combination of HRT? I really don’t know what to do now.

I would think its break through bleeding from the HRT ,it will stop in time .Call your GP or consultants office to check if its worrying you.Its typical of period symptoms so that would be my guess,I've been on HRT for many years and had this when the type was changed
