Where do the figures for Covid infections come from@

I was interested to see on tv, numbers for Covid infections over the past week in the different UK countries.
Where do these come from? I have been testing positive all week, but have nowhere to report these results.
So, are these real figures, or just some sort of algorythm?

They are not real figures they can’t be because we’re no longer reporting to anyone or anywhere are we so they must be projections (so not really if any use)
My friend has it at the moment but nowhere to report

They come from ONS who collect the results of several thousand tests every week. They then work out what the numbers will be for the whole country from these results.

There is.
www.gov.uk/report-covid19-result

Report a COVID-19 rapid lateral flow test result

It works - we have all done it recently (unfortunately)
