After effects of covid vaccination

I used to do childhood imms and one day a parent brought a child with a slight cold, and I decided to postpone vacc, although child didn’t have a fever and was not unwell. Within a week the child started fitting and I’m pretty sure if I’d given the vacc it would have been blamed. Occasionally illnesses can start coincidentally after vaccination and vaccine is blamed.

I know someone who had a very mild dose of covid and had two strokes 3 and 5 weeks afterwards. She is mid 40s. I would imagine clotting more common after covid than vacc.

Personally I would advise having whatever jabs are advised. Problems can occur with bad vaccination practise but the jabs are safe. I most certainly would not like to have Covid badly.

Our SIL had two blood clots after his second Moderna vaccine, one on each lung.

He was taken into A&E and treated but the medication stopped working, he had been told by the NHS a it was a coincidence that he’d had the clots so soon after the vaccine.

He went to the American Hospital in Wilmslow for further treatment, they said unequivocally the clots were a result of the vaccine.

BUPA would not reimburse him for the treatment, the BUPA agent told him they had had hundreds of claims for post vaccine conditions..

I've had four Pfizer, with no side effects, however my fifth jab was Moderna, I slept for two days afterwards. DH has had four jabs all Pfizer, also fine.

It's all very worrying. I am sorry to read your stories Dinahmo and Lathyrus I hope things improve for you.
I doubt very much that I will have the next one, I had covid after having the others and have never really got my full strength back since, and feel I never will.

It worries me that lots of people are being quickly trained up to give vaccines. There’s more to it than just sticking a needle in someone’s arm. I twice asked if they could aspirate the needle and they had no idea what I was talking about.

I guess we all have to weigh up the likelihood of catching Covid this autumn and the reported after after effects against the likelihood of after effects from a vaccine.

Myself, having caught Covid six weeks ago and still suffering, I’m thoroughly relived that the surgery have already told me I’m eligible for the Autumn vaccine.

I’m beginning to believe that I will never really be as well again as I was eight weeks ago before Covid. Another bout will probably finish me off, I know. Seriously ?

Good points here, I think that everyone needs to weigh up their own circumstances regarding the vaccine, taking into account their reactions both to the vaccine and their risks should they contract Covid.
I am suffering from Macrocystic anemia which developed straight after my second jab but I have no idea if it's connected or not. I asked my doctor if there was a connection and he just shrugged his shoulders and said " It could be"

Macrocytic anaemia is easily treatable.

I agree Elaine1. I have seen vaccines given in some odd places, and have had a reaction to a wrongly given flu vacc at a supermarket pharmacy.

It may be nothing to do with the covid vaccine but more where it was given. The correct place in the arm is 2 finger breadths below the shoulder joint. Higher up can hit a nerve which can give you that kind of pain and it can last for months. Not all vaccine givers check that.

I'm sorry to hear this, Dinahmo.

Side effects are, I'm sure, rare, but having met a couple of formerly fit and healthy people this year who have had such extreme reactions to the vaccinations they ended up in hospital and are now struggling with life, I'm reluctant to have the fourth vaccine.

I'm not an anti-vaxxer by any means and DH has been fine after his 4th vaccine but it made me think twice about it.

I hope you feel better soon. DD visits an osteopath for a problem she has folowing an accident and is very pleased with the treatment she gets. It enables her to keep up with her busy schedule; no other treatment helped.
