I can only report that I have had top and bottom dentures for nearly 40 years and never had the slightest problem with them. I am wondering what problems you have read about?

I have a partial bottom denture.
I hate the damn thing, but I haven't had any problems with it.

Mainly problems with keeping them in and secure, some ladies I have spoken to on FB groups are having a nightmare with bottom one's in particular

Do you manage to keep it in OK?

Yes, it slots in and clicks into place, between my real teeth, which I presume may be just good luck on my part.

The dentist can't even remove it, but I can, easily.

It actually snapped in half on the first day of lockdown, but what is left of it still fits exactly the same.

The lower ridge shrinks as we age. Fix o dent and the like are good.

Wernets are the best according to dh.

I don't need to use any fixative, thankfully, because I loathe the feel of it.

Wernets is powder and creates a better seal.

I know a fair bit about dentures and fixatives as my first job was as a dental assistant. smile
I loved that job!

Then years of putting dentures in and out for people as a carer.

Now I have a denture all of my own!
I can't get away from the things!!!
