Pains in legs

I have intermittent pains in both legs at the minute. Presumed was to do with arthritis in hip and knee. Was prescribed statins last year but stopped them as pains in legs!
Maybe should go back on them, can't make it worse!

susytish statins are prescribed for high cholesterol. Have you had a complete blood test that cover everything? You need to see your GP .

If you’ve stopped the statins for a while and still have leg pain I suggest you see your GP again and discuss the problem.

It depends where the pain is and when it happens. It could be spinal damage, peripheral neuropathy or peripheral arterial disease or something else. See your GP and get tested.

Thanks everyone. I have been to see the GP and am awaiting blood tests to find out what is going on. Fibromyalgia was also mentioned.

Susytish I have friends with Fibromyalgia it can be very painful and disabling.
I haven't said it to frighten you but they live a normal life.

I had to wait until I was 64 before I got diagnosed after a life time of pain in my limbs, falls, seizures and limb jerks. Only genetic blood testing solved the puzzle and I was born with it and it's rare. Finally I am on a tablet to stop the seizures and jerks . But the damage to my limbs has been done. Still have all the other problems associated with my condition.

I hope your blood tests solve the mystery for you .

I kept getting woken up by a pain on the front of my lower leg. Nothing to see - no lumps or bumps. I had to see my GP (actually got a face to face appointment!) about another matter so reluctantly mentioned my leg. My GP thought it could be phlebitis so prescribed Voltarol. It cleared up within a couple of weeks or so - just apply it now when necessary.
