Always cold

DH feels the cold as a result of the heart drugs he takes. He also cannot deal with extreme heat.

I have read that as one ages it is important to have the ambient temperature at a suitable temperature.

The recommended temperature is 21c.

But mum who lived to 101 had it hotter as she was no longer active, except pottering around her flat.

When you can't get warm there are only two ways to tackle it, exercise or with external heat. Those electric heat pads are wonderful, they plug in and really warm you up, especially if you wrap soft cushions over them. If your feet are like blocks of ice then put a cushion on the floor, heat pad on top, then your feet, then another cushion. Your feet will be warm as toast in no time. If your top half is also cold then use two heat pads. They are under £20 on Amazon.

Same here Bluebell, I do occasionally get a little damp on the forehead if the weather is getting towards the 30s. I am freezing in the evenings and have been watching TV in a rug hugging a hot water bottle.
I daren't turn the heating on but living in the north of the country I'm finding it difficult to cope already.

hmm can you still get liberty bodices?

I have always felt the cold, but it is getting much worse as I get older. Admittedly I have COVID at present but I am wearing thermal underwear, above and below the waist, plus a thick fleece track suit and really thick fleece bedsocks. But my hands are cold.

Thyroid tests normal, not underweight, rather the opposite. Any ideas?
