BlueBelle as I posted on that thread you need Vitamin D and calcium together. As the vitamin D enables your body to absorb the calcium. I have been taking a combined Vitamin D, vitamin K and calcium everyday for 14 years . When I had my first mammogram at 50 the radiographer told me to take it to protect against osteoporosis. My mom had it from when she was in her early 50's. Luckily it was caught early and was put on the correct medication she lived until she was 90 and only had one broken bone even though having falls . It was a finger joint.

My drugs are also prescribed by my GP since a fracture/dislocation of my ankle due to osteopenia.

I do not believe in self-prescribing, one should have discussed the problem with GP or pharmacist.

Yesterday or day before there was someone a new thread with a put a warning saying ‘Do not to take Vit D supplement with calcium” there was no link!! I want to make it quite clear to anyone who read it that the information is quite the opposite and you should take Vit D with a calcium input if you are deemed to need it for your bones

I see the thread has been deleted but I wish HQ had made it clear why it was being deleted… because of false information

Ok so it’s a thread about a thread but I think it’s important, as at least one person had answered with a ‘thanks for that information’
