The finger needs to ne xrayed and then you will get a proper diagnosis.

Sooki my mom had a finger like that she had broken it but didn't realise by the time it has healed . But a friend of mine has finger like it and it's osteoarthritis. So you need to see your GP either way. Sorry not much help.

I have RA and my fimgers are like that.

Best to see a doctor, rather than us offering a possible diagnosis.

Clicking can mean a fracture. I would get it looked at, is there walk in centre or minor injuries unit you can use?

There is an arthritic condition that causes pain, swelling, and deformity. (Sorry, that sounds horrible- no disrespect to your fingers!)

So, I suppose that is more likely, unless you can remember a specific injury.

My fingers look like that but with large knuckles as well. Best to get a GP to decide and treat I think. I only take prescribed medicines but lots of people take supplements and feel the benefit. Best to talk to a doctor and make your own mind up. You might like to look up Versus the arthritis support charity for more information.

I’ve had a sore finger joint for several weeks now - it’s slightly swollen and hot and quite stiff and difficult to bend. When I do bend it, it aches and it very clicks. I vaguely remember whacking it a few weeks ago but this might not be significant as I’m often bumping into things and stubbing my toes. I’m 50 so I’m wondering if it might be arthritis?
Seems silly to bother a doctor with it at this point other than if it is likely to get more painful or not go away in its own.
If it is arthritis I wondered if anyone had recommendations for something over the counter to help like fish oils / green lipped mussels etc.

I’ve attached a photo (excuse my painty fingers). Affected finger is the one with orange paint on. Swelling is not hugely noticeable but you can See it’s slightly different to the other one.

Any advice very gratefully received.
