covid-19 booster

We got our boosters and flu jabs already. Preparation for flights to and from America. Long flight closed inside a plane.

We want to take any available precaution.

We are going to New Zealand at the end of November and we had our boosters nearly two weeks ago. We had our flu jabs a month ago. I will be wearing an ffp2 mask for as much of the plane journey as is possible. If you are travelling by air, my advice would be to get your boosters before you go. It takes two weeks for the immunity to build up after the vaccination.

We are going to New York at the end of November. DH and I had our boosters at the beginning of September along with our flu jab so as to be fully protected.
Also remember that for full protection from the covid-19 virus you should have your booster 4 - 6 weeks before you travel.

I would have your booster now. As there are plenty of stock may not be in January. Also going on a crowd plane you need all the protection you can get. You don't know if anyone on board has Covid or not had any of the vaccines. Don't for get to get your flu jab before you go as well. Better to be safe than sorry.

My son in law recently came back from New York with impetigo. So make sure you have plenty of antibac gel.

The Gov.uk travel advice has a comprehensive explanation of what’s required generally, but they do say that each State has its own transit requirements as well.
