or is it harder to bounce back from bugs and things picked up from the grandkids?
I took myself off to bed early last night but spent most of the night running from the bed to the bathroom. Other half didn't even manage that - I was dowsed when he coughed and missed the bucket. So a change in bedding, shower, the whole lot at 4 in the morning.
I've had to cancel a hospital appointment and girls night out and have spent the whole day under a blanket - snoozing and himself has not moved from the bed all day!! Neither of us can stomach anything more than water right now. So don't even have the energy to even move.
Have had to cancel taking grandkids to school in the morning so they are booked into breakfast club.
Don't think we have ever felt so rough in a long, long time. We used to shrug these things off and carry on living normally - is this an age thing? Or is this us having to build up immunity again after lockdown?
Just feeling sorry for myself!! hmm

I think it depends what you have. You say 'bugs and things' but that could be anything. Pneumonia, 'flu or covid could floor you. An ordinary cold could become a chest infection or bronchitis, which usually happened to me. But then I took echinacea at the very first sign of a cold and it seemed to knock the cold on the head before it took hold. I will send you a PM as I don't want to be seen to be advertising a particular brand. I have no idea whether other brands are as good.

Oh you poor thing! My GC gave me a tummy bug for my birthday hmm and it took me a week to get over it, while they were bouncing around again after 48hrs.

Get well soon. flowers

Take care and don’t overdo it. I hope you both feel better soon.

Hope you’ll feel better soon, Swampy1961. 💐

I didn’t catch this one from the Gdcs so who knows where it came from - a really stinking cold that’s knocked my stuffing right out. Started on Halloween night, cold and shivery, spent the next day in bed - absolutely unheard of for me. A bit better for a day or two, then a relapse, back to bed for a day.

Awful, exhausting cough, I have no energy for anything. I’ve tested for covid twice - negative - and have had my flu jab.

My colds are usually mild, more of a nuisance than anything, and soon shaken off. This one is something else!

I agree since Covid it’s easier to catch and harder to shake bugs and virus off. Our friends are the same as we are anything the GC get is passed on to us and the bug does the rounds.
I have had a heavy cold and constant cough for that long I can’t remember when I first caught it from our GC. I have tested negative each week but cancelled flu jab for now as that knocks me for six too.
Hope you and DH get back to good health soon.
