susytish I don't know if this will help at all because it isn't quite an answer to your question, but I had my first TKR seven years ago, it went brilliantly but soon after I had pain in both my hips and although my right knee needed replacing my surgeon said he had to do my hips first. Fast forward to 2021 when I had my first THR in February and then second in June. I finally have a date in December for my second TKR. Anyway, where I'm going with this is that without doubt my first TKR, although very successful, definitely affected my hips and my right THR although successful has definitely been affected by my knee that needs replacing. At first I thought that something was wrong with my new hips but I had reassurance xrays and now realise that what I'm suffering is only muscular. I've been on crutches for two years. My poor body, how it's had to keep adjusting to the operations and recovery! But I'm sure that once my final (fourth) major joint is replaced in December I'll be able to start walking properly and my muscles and tendons will adjust to whatever is normal for an active 70 year old.
