Have had painful shoulders for ages, consultant says there is a partial tear in on, but mainly told me I have osteo artheitis! My right hand has been very painful with an odd lump on the Knick leg. I am also developing pain at the top of one thigh, thou x rays there have not shown anything. Consultant has put me down for day surgery for the shoulder to clean it up a bit.
Am feeling very down about it. I’m am 67 and feel the future looks a bit grey for me at the moment. I know lots of folks have things a lot worse, and I am not complaining, but does anyone have any tips to stop further degeneration? I intend to start swimming again when it’s a bit warmer and have managed to lose four stone. Walking does not help the pain the the top of the thigh at all, only rest, but I have a life to lead!
Any tips and will it inevitably get worse? I dread ten years down the line and being all bent over and in a wheelchair!
