For the support, understanding and sharing of mental health issues. All are welcome

HowVeryDareYou2 Sun 14-May-23 23:00:41

Doodle Nothing exciting for dinner - spag bol. Have you bruised your face? Apparently, putting out your hand to break a fall is the most common cause of a broken wrist (I did mine that way on holiday in Croatia a few years ago).

SweetpeaSue The sun came out this afternoon. Glad you felt able to go out. Nice to see your GS on his hoverboard - is that like a skateboard?

ScaredyCat Son1 always goes running about in the play centres with his girls grin. Sometimes, Son2 has joined in. Hope you've had a good day.

Wyllow Sorry to hear that. Tomorrow will hopefully be better for you.

Nanny best of luck at work.
Candy Hope your day goes well tomorrow.
Nadaterturbe Perhaps your daughter feels awkward accepting money/payment? Don't take it to heart, you're a good mum.

I had the house to myself today - DH was at Son2's, installing anew shower and doing some tiling. Son2 will be back tomorrow evening and find it all done - so I did a couple of things at home and then lounged about. Hope all BDers have a restful night x

*Nadaterturbe

nadateturbe Sun 14-May-23 22:46:27

Nanny thinking about you for tomorrow. I hope you get the support you need.
Wyllow3 so sorry you're having such a bad time. It will pass. Just remember that. x
Thanks Doodle and Sweetpeasue.
We don't facetime. No one is keen but we'll have to make an effort. I feel we are in danger of growing apart.
I must pray about it.

Good night everyone.

Evening all, all caught up after a few days not posting.
Doodle I’m so sorry about your accident but glad that you seem comfortable now and are managing. I hope you are enjoying being looked after by your DH. My DH is no cook either but would manage I’m sure.
HVDY your anniversary dinner sounded lovely. Hope your Son2 had a lovely time at Haven. My DD has been recently with her family. It’s good for families I think. It sounds like you had a nice family time with Son1 and his family too. I like IKEA but the nearest one to us is about an hour away. DH hates it.
Nadaterturbe thank you for the info on ITVX. I’m sorry about your family issues. Our AC’s lead such busy lives and I’m sure it’s no reflection on your parenting but simply lack of time. I hope it’s not spoiling your time at your caravan. The views look amazing. I hope you can enjoy some peaceful relaxation.
Wyllow I’m sorry you are having a bad day today. Maybe it’s a build up of stress down to medical appointments/injuries/decisions to be made. I search for reasons why but sometimes there simply aren’t any. I hope things have eased for you now and you manage some rest.
Sweetpeasue your attempt at breast stroke sounds just like mine. I find the coordination extremely difficult but I’m trying to be determined. Sorry to hear you’ve been in pain again, especially as it meant you missed seeing your DGS on his birthday. That must have been so upsetting for you. I’m glad that it eased and you managed to get out. Your violas sound lovely. I hope you are still ok.
Allsorts you don’t need to answer everyone, just dip in and out when you can. Sleep would do you good. Maybe try and get your GP to reconsider prescribing AD’s. It could be a turning point for you. Sending ❤️.
Scaredycat I’m glad you managed to get out yesterday. I hope the weather was kind to you. I hope you are ok.
Nanny2507 my caravan site isn’t entirely residential. It’s open for 11 months. Some on the site live there semi-permanently then move off for a month when it closes. Good luck with work tomorrow. Maybe the social contact will be good for you? I hope so.
Work for me tomorrow so bed now. Love to all BD’s, in those not personally mentioned. I hope you all have a restful night xx

Doodle Sun 14-May-23 22:06:36

nanny I hope you get on ok and they are supportive to you. 💕

nanny2507 Sun 14-May-23 21:46:50

Tomorrow I am going back to work. I have been off for a month. I am not ready to adult without my DH. I have had to take 3 weeks holiday or lose money.

Doodle Sun 14-May-23 19:54:34

Scaredycat luckily my rabbit teeth are still In place. Face not too bad to be honest I think it was more of a glancing blow with my wrist taking most of the impact.
Sweetpeasue so sorry you missed seeing your DGS on his birthday. That must have upset you. Your little flowers sound lovely and uplifting. Hope you enjoyed your trip to the nurseries.
Oh dear Wyllow I’m so sorry. Do you think it’s anything to do with not moving but perhaps staying locally to where you live? We are here if you feel like chatting but if not sending you a hug and a hand ( my good one) to hold.
nadatetube DH works only under close supervision in the kitchen. It’s not his thing. We are lucky we eat simple meals so not much cooking involved. Tonight we had ice-cream instead of fruit so even less to do.
Children don’t always want to accept money from their parents. Also life can be so busy with youngsters. Do you face time with your son or daughter?

Sweetpeasue Sun 14-May-23 18:14:57

nadateturbe Sorry I missed you behind Wyllow. Thankyou it's very strange to be suddenly ok but I'm not knocking it. I'm sure your son and daughter love you very much. I think sons can focus on partners families but not having a daughter I don't know. I do know their lives can be busy but I think, sadly, parents are not at the front of AC s minds. It can hurt. I think we've all felt that at times. 💐

Sweetpeasue Sun 14-May-23 17:59:49

Oh Wyllow You've come down from a reasonable high with a crash.
So sorry. You will go up again I'm sure. I'd rather just stay middling myself as I know what that does psychologically. Sending lo e. 💐

nadateturbe Sun 14-May-23 17:59:20

Wyllow3 Sun 14-May-23 17:27:37

Very bad black dog day indeed, everything too much.

Waves to all BD's x

Scaredycat Sun 14-May-23 15:50:29

Doodle- oh your poor face too that must have been painful- hope your teeth are all intact!
When we were little the Ads on TV were as entertaining as the programmes cos they were a novelty but now we,ll do anything to avoid them. You have an excuse to binge a bit - enjoy it.
Glad you sleep well despite your arm- DH will be on Masterchef by the time he’s finished!!!
HVDY- what a nice Saturday you had- your GDS are going to have great memories of their Dad whizzing about with them.
What a change of weather you have today- don’t do too many boring jobs - chill out and enjoy some free time
Nanny- I hope you are managing OK- take care of yourself.
Nadaturbe- it’s so hard to put something upsetting or worrying out of your head at night- in fact it magnifies them doesn’t it. I expect yourDD is disappointed she won’t see you too. Hope you can still enjoy that lovely place.
Wyllow- it would be good if you could visit some retirement apartments and have a look round. Have you a friend who would go with you ?
Hope you slept well after that extra sleep. In my experience children will watch anything if it means they can stay up!! Hope they enjoyed it- a shame we didn’t do better.
SweetPeaSue- it’s been a nice day here too- even did a little gardening- bit of an overdo it day!!!
So pleased you overcame your fears and had a good day you so deserve it. Even taking litttle flower friends home with you- I love those little faces.hope you have a comfortable night.
EllieAnne- hope this weekend hasn’t been too difficult for you.
Love to all

Sweetpeasue Sun 14-May-23 14:27:18

HVDY How strange to have a foggy grey morning today. Hope it burnt off later. Been lovely here all day though a little cloudy now. 19deg.
Thanks HVDY but milk seems more of a food. Everyone been so helpful with suggestions.
Wyllow Hope that back isn't too painful today and that you weren't up half the night because of the daytime sleep. Have had caff free coffee for last 2 mths and caff free tea for last 3 weeks with no benefit so decided to be a lot more strict and follow IC recommendations.
Doodle It sounds nasty falling on your poor face too! You must have had a right wallop. Thank goodness for the kindness of neighbours and family. My DH has zero kitchen skills, I do sympathise. Can make toast though! As long as you dont mind a full tub of butter on top. 🤭
Ive been having peppermint tea Doodle kind of you to look that up. Alllowing myself 1 cup of decaff T and 1 cup of Decaff coffee a day, rest water or peppermint.
EllieAnne Hope you're coping with the weekend amd have managed to get out today or/and to church.
nadateturbe I do hope you're managing to enjoy your break away now and it's nice weather where you are.

Yesterday was awful as although got out on morning to supermarket, bad night. Main thing was I got pain later and couldnt see DGS on birthday. I was under impression son was taking him back to his mum's on morning but he stayed later. By that time another attack of pain. Managed a brief facetime call and saw him on hoverboard. Because so sporadic dont think fam really understands.
Anyway, lovely day today🤞. Been to nurseries and had my wonderful, gorgeous de caff coffee. Got some little violas for a pot-Rebecca and deep violet so some lovely little' faces' to look at. On a morning like this it's hard to believe there's anything wrong. It doesn't make sense.
I didnt want to go out at all at first as I felt so nervous.

Hope everyone ok. Thinking of all BDs.

Doodle Sun 14-May-23 12:16:18

Sweetpeasue I’ve just looked up and they say calamine and peppermint tea are good for the bladder health.

Doodle Sun 14-May-23 12:11:16

nadateturbe does your DD live far from you? She has a busy life with young children. Is that why she can’t make it this year? Please try and enjoy your caravan break.
Sweetpeasue does the diet give you other ideas over what to drink? It certainly sounds as though it’s worth a try to see if it helps.
Wyllow we have thought of M and Stone as there is a really nice place near where we live and my church. I expect there are many other companies that offer the same sort of services.
What landing on my face and wrist has taught me is that you never know when accidents will happen and if you don’t have anyone at home to help, such a facility would be useful. I know you could always have helpers in wherever you live but having some form of resident manager and community would be good. Only go for ground floor flat if no lift. When we moved here we didn’t need it but now it’s invaluable.
HVDY yes that’s right x Ray in two weeks. I actually sleep really well. I have my arm on a pillow and find it quite comfortable. I think it’s easier than the original cast which went all the way round.
What’s on the menu today. We are eating simply. DH is learning new kitchen skills 🤣

HowVeryDareYou2 Sun 14-May-23 07:34:55

SweetpeaSue How about almond milk (Alpro or something) to drink?

Nadateturbe Sorry, I got mixed up about the alkaline diet.

Doodle I expect you'll have an x-ray in a fortnight then, to see how things are healing. Hope all goes well.

*You had a nice few hours of sleep in the evening. Did you manage to sleep when you eventually went to bed?

EllieAnne Hope you find people to chat with at church this weekend.

Nanny Hope you're getting on ok.

Hope all BDers manage to have a decent day. It's grey and foggy here, so I'll stay in and do some boring jobs. x

Wyllow3 Sun 14-May-23 00:16:55

*Sweetpeasue will non - caffeine ordinary tea suit?

I hope you're still having a good time there Nadateturbe sorry about DD concerns.

Good day there HVDY!

I'm glad you have had offers of help Doodle. Yes the more wobbly one feels the more McCarthy and Stone appeal tho yesterday found another local retirement complex that looks OK that I didn't know about - only 2 stories but no lifts, nice garden.

Warm waves nanny

I had yet another unexpected sleep between 5.30 and 8,30pm so am still up this is quite weird for me. As far as I could see from family photos the children were allowed to stay up as late as they wanted to watch Eurovision but I stayed with old fave Montalbano.

Sweetpeasue Sat 13-May-23 22:24:29

Nadateturbe The tea was a good tip. Dont worry, myDH doesn't mind it. This IC diet says acid in caff free T n coffee too so I'm a bit scuppered. I'm so sorry about your worries about daughter. It's so hard sometimes.

nadateturbe Sat 13-May-23 21:45:07

Doodle good to hear from you. Hope your wrist isn't giving you too much pain. So difficult to manage, I'm sure. Glad you have some help. Those retirement developments sound good. Hope you enjoy your Ad free watching.
Nanny I hope you are coping. Thinking of you.
Our caravan/mobile home is not residential. Our site is open Mar-Oct.
HVDY its lovely that you get to spend so much time with your children. I do envy you. You asked about an alkaline diet it's Sweetpeasue who is trying it.
Sweetpeasue I hope you've had some pain free time today. Sorry if you've wasted your moneyon the tea. I didn't like it right away but love it now. But we all have different tastes. I hate fruit teas and green tea. Apparently mothers in some part of Africa give rooibos to babies for colic.

Thanks for sympathetic comments about daughter. I hardly slept last night thinking about it, but have come to terms with it.
Hello Whiff, Candy, Allsorts, Scaredycat, Wyllow3 and anyone elseon BD. Wishing everyone a peaceful night. x

Doodle Sat 13-May-23 20:47:56

nanny thank you. I’m ok. More importantly, how are you coping. Are you sleeping at night?
HVDY not sure. Got a review in two weeks. Didn’t get to speak to anyone after the op so not sure what happens from now on. I bet your girls love their dad chasing round with them.
Sweetpeasue hope you are feeling ok. I’m not a fan of Rooibos either but I know many who really like it.

Sweetpeasue Sat 13-May-23 20:16:34

Doodle I'm gladyou have some help with neighbours and family. Its going to be tough for you though so sending love. 💐
Wyllow Well done going for the swim. Glad you've got the physio appt so you will get guidance about what and what not to do. Hope that chalky stuff soon leaves your bowel and you're more comfortable.
HVDY It must have been nice to see your DGDs again. Those play centres are pretty frantic aren't they? The children can burn off that amazing energy. Sounds like a nice family day. Citrus fruits not allowed on diet but will look out for others. Wonder if they do an apple one.
Scaredycat Its good to have a walk, however small a distance.
Nadateturbe I bought some rooibos. Sorry but it's not my er,cup of tea. I might give it another try tomorrow.Mint is ok. Hope your day has been good and you are enjoying that lovely scenery if you are still at caravan.

Hope all are having as good a day as possible. x

nanny2507 Sat 13-May-23 19:52:04

doodle how are you feeling. Hope things are improving.

Those talking about site fees..do you live in caravans or mobile homes on these sites for over 55's ( kind of things)

HowVeryDareYou2 Sat 13-May-23 18:45:40

Doodle Glad you're getting on ok. How long for the wrist to heal?

Saw Son1 and girls. It was dull and cool, so we went to a play centre for 2 hours (Son is 6ft 2 and broad but he goes charging about in there with them), then went round Ikea and bought a few things we don't need grin. The sun came out, so we had lunch in a country pub garden, before going back to his house for a cuppa and a look at his new bits and pieces in his (spotlessly clean) home. Back home now. Hope all BDers have a relaxing evening x

HowVeryDareYou2 Sat 13-May-23 18:40:51

Wyllow Grandchildren say some funny things smile. Hope she has a lovely party. Constipation is horrible, isn't it? I find that having a couple of cups of coffee gets me going. My husband slept for 10 hours yesterday, and he hadn't done anything! (he is very lazy though).
ScaredyCat It's been nice weather for getting out.

Doodle Sat 13-May-23 18:04:15

HVDY belated wishes for your wedding anniversary. Nails looked nice. Hope you had a good time with son and girls.
EllieAnne there’s no requirement to post a reply to everyone. Just pop in and out as you like and tell us how you are.
You are doing what you can to help your son. It’s hard keeping a house tidy with busy jobs and young children.
Scaredycat hope the ADs will soon be helping. They have helped me in the past. Thanks for your kind thoughts.
Glad you managed a little walk as well.
Wyllow glad you got on well with the consultant and have a date booked for your op.
DH and I have been to McCarthy and Stone and certainly would consider moving there. Independence but support and company too. Glad the swallow is over and you slept well. Hope the constipation eases soon and you feel more comfortable.
Sweetpeasue hope the new diet is going to help. DH and I have cut back on alcohol and are on decaf coffee too.
Candy lovely photo. What a calming place to visit.
nadateturbe hope you had a good time at your caravan too.
I have just subscribed to ITVX got fed up not wanting to watch stuff because of ads.
Fabulous photo. Looks such a nice place.
Allsorts thank you. Sorry you are struggling. Have a break can help.
Thanks all for your kind thoughts. We are coping fine and have family and neighbours offering help. Sorry not to post more. I’ve read through but can’t remember everything.
Take care all and hope you are all ok.

Wyllow3 Sat 13-May-23 17:25:31

I slept again in the morning. when I woke it was lovely and sunny but I thought I'd take back for a light swim backstroke since walking a bad idea and long sauna and the sauna was great... and good news the physio had a cancellation Tuesday.

Current major frustration is small but has its funny side. What happens to someone with constipation all the time then drinks 7 glasses of chalk then painkillers ...yes... you've guessed. Tight waistbands...

Glad you got out for your walk Scaredycat yes frustrating its short.
