I am another with Bronchiectasis, diagnosed after chest xrays and a CT Scan a few years ago. This is the first flare up in a very long while.
I am pleased to say that I am finally on the mend after two courses of antibiotics.

CrazyH, I too have brittle asthma and bronchiectasis. I have daily exercises to clear my lungs and will be on prophylactic antibiotics for life.
It has helped reduce the frequency of infections, but I still have a permanent cough.

Suffered from Asthma all my life. More than ten years ago , I developed a chronic chesty cough. Following X-rays, Scans etc I was diagnosed with Bronchiectasis. Main thing is to try and cough up as much mucous as you can. If not, it stays in your lungs and causes infection. I am coping well although I get tired easily .
I am certainly not saying that you have Bronchiectasis, but it will be advisable to have an X-ray . I was told that a regular X-ray doesn’t pick up everything. A CT scan is the best way forward. Hope you get sorted …

I had a mucussy cough for months. I even took to wearing Tenna ladies . I had two chest xrays , both negative. I didn't think I would ever feel right but gradually it eased off. It was great to feel normal again . So it will pass but do get tests done just to be sure.
Sadly , I have now come down with a strep throat infection which is unconnected but awful!!

I started with no voice and a cough in the week before Easter. This quickly turned into a chest infection. I am now on my second course of antibiotics and my cough is not as bad as it was, thank goodness.
If it doesn't clear up I have been told it will probably mean a chest xray.
Apart from covid last year this is the first time I have felt this ill for a very long time.

It sounds like a chest infection. Another trip to the GP is in order if the same symptoms return. You may need another course of (different?) antibiotics. My daughter had a virus, felt better - then it returned, worse than ever, so perhaps some viruses are like that?

Yes, I had similar symptoms and was given CT scans and resulting treatment. Situation improving steadily.

Has your GP organised a chest x-ray? That's what my GP does if my inhalers don't help. It rules out anything sinister.
I think you need to contact your GP.

Has anyone had a cough virus that lasts months. I go from sore throat, high temperature, then cough. Clears up for week or so , then starts again.
Have been to Dr's who prescribed antibiotics and inhaler.
Started to improve , now the cycle has started again.
Is it because we have no immunity post covid.
