Much prefer Camilla, thought Diana was not never the right woman for Charles. You just had to look at the body language to see that.
From that painful interview at the engagement they seemed not to be connecting.
This still outcome would still be the conclusion if Diana was still alive, Camilla was always going to be The Queen.

I read once that, Camilla was the sort of woman who would go out in the pouring rain to sort the kids rabbits out. That resonated with me, as I used to do that.
They adore each other, much better fit.

I'm not a royalist particularly, and won't be watching the coronation, but I do think that it's right for Camilla to be crowned queen. As others have said, Diana has been dead for a while now, and she and Charles were never a good match. The rest of us are entitled to start again after an unsatisfactory marriage, so why not them? We need more, rather than less happiness in the world!

I do wonder about if Diana had still been alive if she would have still been seen as such a wonderful person , I was never much of a fan and can't understand all the praise that is still heaped on her TBH. I bet she would have been married at least twice by now to people with very big bank accounts and living the high life abroad. Charles should have been allowed to marry Camilla when they were young but the powers that be interfering in this I think talked the queen out of allowing this. That is the disgrace. I will admit Diana was a lamb to the slaughter , young not to worldly wise but it came back to bite them all on the backside.

She and Charles love each other. I have no problem with her being Queen.

That’s funny 🤣

Well this is what you get with a hereditary monarchy, you don't get to choose who is crowned, they do.

If only there was a way of choosing who was Head of State...

I won't be watching either but that's nothing to do with Camilla or Diana or monarchism/royalism. We simply don't have a telly.

😂😂😂

Its a great pity that Charles did not marry Camilla when they first met, but thats another story. I too was a Diana fan but they were ill suited for marriage. There were faults on both sides.

Clearly Charles did not appreciate being married to a global superstar (who would) and did not appreciate being outshone. Camilla is good for him and the ideal consort as she does not thrust herself forward or seek to efface him.

Don't watch then.

Germanshepherdsmum Sun 30-Apr-23 12:38:18

Struggling? Really?

henetha Sun 30-Apr-23 12:16:48

Me too, far better suited. We've moved on anyway. It is what it is. Camilla has proved herself worthy and will be crowned.
But don't watch if it upsets you. It's your choice.

I think they make a good couple, far better suited than Charles and Diana.

Is she ill?
I notice you posted on "health".
Maybe this was just an error?

I'm not a "royalist" but think they are good together. And Diana has been dead so long now... and was not a good match in the first place (in my opinion).

It can't be a very long time anyway before it's all passed on to William - as Charles is not a young man.

The wife of the king will inevitably be queen.

As a royalist but also a princess Diana fan, I'm struggling, I can't stand to see camilla crowned queen, I don't want to watch, it's making me less of a royalist, I wish he'd just pass it on to William and Kate
