I agree they are much better suited, all 3 were victims of the system, sadly. She did look very well.

About health though, several times I thought she looked like she has the beginnings of Parkinsons, but not on this occasion.

I did notice her hand shaking but that might have been sheer exhaustion,especially when you think that she had to go through it all in the rehearsal as well.. She's amazing IMO

I thought the same. Not sad watching TV when the weather’s bad, I’ve watched some black-and-white Sherlock Holmes films to avoid the downpour.
Just sad to have nothing better to do than watch something you don’t like.

Well, I was with my eldest daughter and, taking account of the weather, nothing better to do we watched this expensive ceremony. What a laugh. All those people dressed up in clothes of by-gone times, looking rather silly. An awful amount of Good stuff, yes, we saw the 'other religious leader' there, why was the head of the British Humanist Society refused? Heard with horror of the unwarranted arrests of people who dared to be republicans. Wondered about the air force - of all the military were carrying knives on the end of their rifles (had some hysterical moments imagining them leaning out of the planes to stab at the enemy planes. Learned that amongst those military swearing their allegiance to the King was the group of Archers (Putin must be shaking in his shoes with fear watching this).
So silly all those archaic titles and the curtesying and head hanging (bowing).
Sand to fill in pot holes on The Mall, over which a golden coach rode - says it all about 21st century Britain!!!
Two layers of cloth of gold, in which the monarch swore to uphold the best for his 'subjects'.

And before anyone says it - other countries also do quite magnificent national events. Without all the scam historic pretensions of this one - most of the 'tradition' was started during Victorian times.

Surprised you bothered to watch it Franbern even though it was a wet day.

If I didn’t approve of such an event, I would have found something else to watch.

I liked Camilla’s dress and having her grandchildren’s names embroidered into it was a lovely touch.

From a distance you don’t notice, but up close she is very very wrinkled for her age. I guess it’s because she was a heavy smoker and also enjoyed many holidays and visits to hot countries.

I don’t watch programmes I don’t think I’ll enjoy Franbern, plenty to find on catchup, or go out, which is what we’ll be doing during the Eurovision fervour.
I did watch it, not glued, but it was on, the RF are part of my history and upbringing, it bought back memories of my parents. MrJ occupied himself elsewhere in the house, the RF have a different meaning to him.
To address the OP, the shenanigans of the past are done.

I'm afraid I didn't watch it all but did in the end watch some (after the event so I could skip a lot). I actually enjoyed some of it - mainly the bits others ridicule such as the anointing behind a screen and the carrying of artefacts of state etc.
Also loved hearing the Welsh there. 🥰

No scam. No pretension just doing it as usual. No other countries organise such large events.

Calistemon, if you read my subsequent post I acknowledged the actual fault lies with my employer. It has made me feel undervalued and I am going to actively look for another job but I have way too much stuff going on atm (like major stuff, which most probably makes me feel even worse about the unfairness of things) I have never voted Conservative

The King has given me and my work colleagues another unpaid day off tomorrow for example and I imagine I am not the only one in this position.

But it should not be unpaid - that is your employer's fault for not paying you.
Something is wrong when employers can do this.

We have food banks because the policies of subsequent governments have failed for very many years and I agree - we do not pay enough tax. Those on very high salaries should pay more but not such a punitive amount that they leave the country. Those evading tax should be found and made to pay.

In fact we don't have as many bank holidays as many other countries and definitely need one in the autumn.

Camilla looked lovely. Her dress had been designed to pay tribute to her family. Diana is dead and has been for 25 years, it’s high time people lived in the here and now. Camilla is Queen. They are married and, it seems, happily so.

I know that Charles dated at least one of Diana’s older sisters.

I do wonder about if Diana had still been alive if she would have still been seen as such a wonderful person , I was never much of a fan and can't understand all the praise that is still heaped on her TBH. I bet she would have been married at least twice by now to people with very big bank accounts and living the high life abroad. Charles should have been allowed to marry Camilla when they were young but the powers that be interfering in this I think talked the queen out of allowing this. That is the disgrace. I will admit Diana was a lamb to the slaughter , young not to worldly wise but it came back to bite them all on the backside.

My opinion is that Diana would have been a good wife if only Charlie had not carried on with Camilla. I am not really a royalist but think it was a shame C & C were not allowed to marry when they were young. Diana might have met a nice chap and still be alive. All the rules about Charlie having to marry a virgin from the aristocracy just brought misery, it is so outdated. I always think of the invader of 1066 and wonder why we have allowed it to continue.

I apologise then and I know some fault is that my contract hadn't taken into to account these extra bank holidays (the Queens funeral and the one tomorrow) and actually the real blame lies with my employer

The allegation is the National lottery gave money towards the coronation instead of food banks
