Last post reported. Don’t click on it. Dreadful to troll such a thread.

GSM my DGD has turned in to a lovely caring young woman,a trial and difficult teenage years we have a lovely relationship, she is now 24,E and my Katy where worth fighting for.

Germanshepherdsmum Sun 18-Jun-23 09:42:57

How awful downtoearth. I’m so sorry. Poor, poor woman and child, and poor you. I can’t begin to imagine the grief, but well done for fighting for justice. 💐

downtoearth Sun 18-Jun-23 08:32:42

Our inquest came three years after,it was a suspicous suicide in which her partner had beaten her and trapped her and my GD in the flat, she tried to leave, but stayed due my 4yr old GD,she went into the bathroom and hung herself.
We endured crimnal priceeding due the beating, coroners court and 6 years in the high court fighting for custody.
My daughters memory was only ever treated with courtesy, respect, and deep sympathy,we respinded with dignity for which we where praised.
I know it is daunting MIY,and so raw for you,it brings it all back again, will be thinking of you flowers

Thinking if you all. Nephew took his own life it was awful. Good bless you.

Grannyben Sat 17-Jun-23 21:13:03

I just wanted to say MIY, that I have only ever been to one inquest and the Coroner was extremely kind and very sympathetic. We certainly came away feeling that he had listened to our concerns, Infact he was so shocked at the treatment our relative had received from our local Hospital that he wrote to them to express his concerns.
I sincerely hope you come away feeling like your darling daughters inquest is far from a tick box exercise

MadeInYorkshire Sat 17-Jun-23 12:36:10

Yes *Anniebach, not something that I am looking forward to at all ....

Anniebach Sat 17-Jun-23 11:18:25

Thank you Allsorts

MIY you have the inquest to come, yes it hurts, to them she is a statistic, to us our darling child .

Allsorts Wed 14-Jun-23 05:47:25

💐 To those who have lost loved ones to suicide. I can't even imagine your pain.

MadeInYorkshire Tue 13-Jun-23 19:58:55

Gosh, how bizarre ... and how terribly sad that our Catt, Cadi and Katy felt so bad that they had to take their own lives. My loss is very fresh still and we haven't as yet had the Inquest, which I have been told can be awful as it is very impersonal and merely a 'tick box' exercise.

I've been incensed in the last couple of hours as I saw a video of my dreadful MP going on about MH services in the House of commons recently ... what MH services are those then? We begged and she begged for years, she had been with them since the age of 9 - she would have been 30 on 28th January just gone. I will be writing a lengthy scathing comment on his YouTube page!!

downtoearth Tue 13-Jun-23 19:20:44

My Katherine was Katherine Marie,I wanted to spell it Kathryn, but the registrar mispelled it,she was always known as Katy.
I agree Katherines are special girls indeed wither they be C or K flowers

Anniebach Tue 13-Jun-23 16:55:32

Most definitely- Catherine’s / Katherine’s are very special girls,
my Catherine’s 3rd name was - Elizabeth . Catherine also called
Cadi ,Welsh for Catherine.

MadeInYorkshire Tue 13-Jun-23 16:43:27

downtoearth

Annie,MIY my daughters name was also Katherine

Crikey, this is getting a bit bizarre!

Her middle name was Elizabeth, like my own.

My Catherine, or Catt as she liked to be called was named after Katherine Swynford after I had read the book by Anya Seton about her, but I preferred the spelling with the 'C'. My second daughter was named Charlotte - I always told them that it was because I wouldn't have to sew more names into school uniform!

downtoearth Tue 13-Jun-23 16:32:04

Annie,MIY my daughters name was also Katherine

Germanshepherdsmum Tue 13-Jun-23 15:13:32

Yes MIY. I didn’t like to say so but I very much doubt that contacting the lady would have been a good move for you.

KBO as Churchill said. And all the best. 💐

MadeInYorkshire Tue 13-Jun-23 15:07:03

Germanshepherdsmum

She turned very nasty and threatening MIY. GN took the thread down. All was not, I think, quite as it seemed.

Oh thank you! *GSM .... looks like I dodged a bullet there then!

*downtoearth, I am so sorry it's so hard isn't it?

*Anniebach, gosh my daughter's name was also Catherine, spelled the same way etc ....

Thanks also *Maddyone

xx

downtoearth Mon 12-Jun-23 20:09:00

Anniebach Mon 12-Jun-23 18:34:16
