Post cataract op problems

I had my right eye done on 13th February this year. I've returned to Spa Medica for a post op and a second follow up because I have what I can only describe as " foggy bits " in my eye . These foggy bits are stuck , they don't move although SM doctor said they could be floaters or viscous gel trapped in the eye . She said they may never go , or they could disperse , but I have to ignore and live with it . They say my eyes look healthy and of course checked them thoroughly. But I'm still seeing these clumps of foggy bits . I use a warm eye compress daily and cleanse with wipes . I'm using eye drops 4 or 5 times a day as I was told my eyes are dry . My left eye was done 1 month ago is not as bad , just a slight film of mist and I hope it stays this way .

Does anyone else have post cataract issues to advise me . Thank you 🙏

I think what you have is a very common problem, which happens in about of one third of caaract operations. and it is remedied by minor laser surgery in the surgeons treatment room.

I had the problem in both my eyes and DH had it in one. I would seek a second opinion from another eye surgeon in a different practice, or speak to your optician.

MOnica , thankyou for your reply . Yesterday I went to my optician and he had a good look into my right eye and said 'floaters ' and dry eye , said I should just ignore . Frustrating, but I am grateful to have my sight . Fingers crossed the foggy bits will fade in time . Meanwhile I'll keep using my heat pad and eye drops

I am glad you now feel re-assured, even if the result was not entirely what you would want.
