Antiperspirant or deodorant?

I use a deodorant.
It is aluminium free.
I don't know the current state of research regarding aluminium but I noticed when in America that the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) requires antiperspirant manufacturers to include warnings on antiperspirants specifically for people with kidney disease who shouldn't be using them.

Also, this make doesn't use Parabens; Sodium Lauryl Sulphate; synthetic colours; petrochemicals such as (e.g mineral oils); DHA; BHT or Isothiazolinones.

I don't know how many of you are avoiding any of these other things?

I have googled Alzheimer's disease and aluminium and found this:
One large recent study did find a potential role for high dose aluminium in drinking water in progressing Alzheimer's disease for people who already have the disease.

However, multiple other small and large scale studies have failed to find a convincing causal association

My friend was successfully treated for breast cancer , her oncologist told her never to use antiperspirants because of the aluminium.

I didn't know that antiperspirants contain aluminium. No wonder I'm going a bit of kilter. I'll be getting a deodorant - if I can find one! Thanks for the info

Ps to above, it might be worth actually not using it and seeing if it really makes a difference.

The Bionsen smells so lovely anyway, I will continue to use it ..
All it actually does, is perfume sweat or perspiration if you prefer 😁

Not sure what the difference is? Just had a look at mine and it’s an anti perspirant. Have been using it for years. Should I be worried?

An antiperspirant blocks the pores which in my opinion is not good you’ve got pores to sweat and blocking them is a no-no for me..🤷‍♀️

I use antiperspirant but not every day. In fact I use it only if it is very hot and we are going out somewhere. My dd had a breast cancer scare and uses a stone of some kind. My SIL has had breast cancer and doesn’t use it at all although at one time she used an exceptionally strong one - think it was Mitchum. Another person I met on holiday said she had had so many scares she didn’t use it. I can honestly say that I no longer have any sign of bo when I sniff furiously at clothes and arm pits. Perhaps it is my age. I am in my eighties.

Recently I became allergic to anti perspirants, no matter how 'gentle' they proclaimed to be.
Now I use 'Wild' Natural Refillable Deodorant.
It is, of course, aluminium free, and far, far better than I expected it to be. I'm permanently hot, and can get pretty sweaty, but it really works for me!
The Coconut and Vanilla fragrance is lovely!
