Hi

My scalp is driving me mad I have tried everything and the day after washing itches again can any of you had this problem and found something that helped thank you

I use Nizoral most of the time Nanjust60 and occasionally Garnier oat milk soothing shampoo, I always use their oat milk conditioner.
It stops my itching, I think I may have seborrheic dermatitis, too minor to fight for a GP diagnosis.

Do you colour your hair?

Mine used to itch sometimes, but since I let the grey take over, doesn’t seem to be a problem. I put it down to the dye.

E45 shampoo helps

I agree with Horti. I tried everything, then I discovered E45 dry scalp shampoo. It helps enormously. I buy it in Boots. It's sometimes with the other shampoos, and sometimes with the other E45 products.

I find Body Shop Ginger shampoo & their ginger hair & scalp scrub is good. T Gel shampoo is also worth a try.

Shampoo/conditioner allergy? I can't use shampoo or conditioner - only a flat teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda, well diluted in a large mug of warm water. Lots of rinsing - then a final rinse with a couple of teaspoons of cider vinegar - again in a mug of warm water. Try it, lovely soft shiny hair and comfortable scalp.

I had a similar problem, after a few years of having my hair coloured, I had a bad reaction - same salon same product! My head was hot , itchy and dry!! Used all sorts of ' remedies ' from pharmacy but eventually had to visit my GP. I was given a prescription for Beta Cap, a solution for the scalp. It worked , took some time but eventually I was ok. Massive relief - I am now embracing my grey
locks !!!!

Have you seen a doctor to find out what’s causing this?

My gp told me to use coconut oil. Rub in the night before you wash your hair, cover and leave over night. It does help and hair is silky smooth.
Worth a try.

Polytar Shampoo is excellent.
