My gp told me to use coconut oil. Rub in the night before you wash your hair, cover and leave over night. It does help and hair is silky smooth. Worth a try.
I had a similar problem, after a few years of having my hair coloured, I had a bad reaction - same salon same product! My head was hot , itchy and dry!! Used all sorts of ' remedies ' from pharmacy but eventually had to visit my GP. I was given a prescription for Beta Cap, a solution for the scalp. It worked , took some time but eventually I was ok. Massive relief - I am now embracing my grey locks !!!!
Shampoo/conditioner allergy? I can't use shampoo or conditioner - only a flat teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda, well diluted in a large mug of warm water. Lots of rinsing - then a final rinse with a couple of teaspoons of cider vinegar - again in a mug of warm water. Try it, lovely soft shiny hair and comfortable scalp.
I agree with Horti. I tried everything, then I discovered E45 dry scalp shampoo. It helps enormously. I buy it in Boots. It's sometimes with the other shampoos, and sometimes with the other E45 products.
I use Nizoral most of the time Nanjust60 and occasionally Garnier oat milk soothing shampoo, I always use their oat milk conditioner. It stops my itching, I think I may have seborrheic dermatitis, too minor to fight for a GP diagnosis.
My scalp is driving me mad I have tried everything and the day after washing itches again can any of you had this problem and found something that helped thank you
