Summer Cold

DH had it last week, I was my normal unsympathetic self (I am definitely not nurse material)

I felt exhausted when I woke up today, but then again I have had an exceptionally busy week, I now have a streaming nose, fuzzy head and could just curl up and sleep.

I am on school pick up and need to entertain a 3yr old and 8yr old until DD finishes work, oh well I best crack on.

Apparent there is a lot of RSV going round because we didn't build up immunity during lockdowns. Can be serious for the over 60s, (and even more so for under twos) there is a new vaccine for it which might be available relatively soon for those no longer in the first flush of youth!

I’m just getting over it and it absolutely floored me. I, too was surprised it wasn’t Covid as my symptoms ticked all the boxes but the two tests I did were both negative.

Thank you for your replies.
You have my sympathy Dragon Fly and Nanny Noodles.
I know a cold is not serious, but crikey I’ve never had symptoms quite so severe, despite taking paracetamol and ibuprofen regularly as recommended.

Yes, we were both totally wiped out, worst for years.
Covid took over a week to show up though and even then only faintly so not sure if it’s a new strain that’s not picked up by the old tests?

Yes I have one which seems to go and keep coming back. The sore throat is the worst I have had although only on one side.

I haven’t had a cold in years but this last week I have been wiped out with sore throat, aching limbs and runny nose.
I did a test for Covid as the symptoms were so full on, but it was negative.
Has anyone else had a cold virus this summer?
