I have just been told I have this condition.
It was a bit of a shock and although I have looked at lots of information about the condition , I wondered if anyone had experienced it?

Has anyone heard of it, or had it?

Yes Melanie61 I was diagnosed with it earlier this year. The optician picked up on it and referred me to hospital. Had a scan there and the condition was confirmed by the consultant.

She’s hopeful that it might resolve itself over the next year and it’s just being monitored in meantime. I have it in both eyes but I’m more aware of it in my left eye. I can’t see clearly with that eye if I cover the other one.

Any sudden worsening and I’ve to contact the hospital as it’s likely it’s caused a tear in the macula. I don’t give it much thought to be honest. Having a bad memory has its advantages. I’d forgotten all about it till I read your post !

Thankyou Grannynannywanny, that’s just what they have said to me. I have been sent away and they will see me in a year. I had never heard of it. Hopefully it will heal itself.

I had this 2 years ago and it’s back again, getting fed up with it so I’ll get an appointment with the optician. Did anyone else have a recurrence?

I was diagnosed after my cataract surgery. I'm in a wait and see period. Has anyone had the surgery?
