Following a blood test I found out my cholesterol was high (7.7)
My Doctor said it could be genetic (yes I think it is).

What’s anyone’s experience of statins?

Been taking them for 5+ yrs no problems my cholesterol is now 3.7 not sure if that’s down to my diet now or if the statins.

Enidd. Just search statins under Health. There was a very lengthy discussion about statins just last week.

I have also taken them for years with no problems.

Thanks both, it’s good to know as I don’t actually know anyone who takes them so can’t ask.

Loads of folk seem to be on statins where I live anyway. I have familial high cholesterol which has come down since taking statins. I have no obvious side effects. My friend does but as she takes a huge amount of prescribed pills every day I’m not sure how she can tell.
