I just discovered this, late in September though. Ideas for improving your sleep-if you need them.

Ha ha. I missed this entirely!

I could do with help to stay awake. I could sleep for England. Poor DH is the opposite and suffers terrible insomnia whilst I snore away, oblivious to everything.

You’re a lucky duck vampire queen. Like my husband and I reckon he could sleep standing up. Actually I know he could ! Sometimes I think he has narcolepsy.

I would sleep all night through if I didn't have to get up at least twice a night to go to the loo!

Hi. I’ve been prescribed zopiclone as I’ve been suffering from insomnia /anxiety partly over health investigations for quite a few weeks. It came today. I’m not sure about taking it - elderly and never sleep right through 7-8 hours. I wondered if anyone had any experience/observations which could help? Thanks

It's a curse. No matter how long I sleep, I never feel rested. I can, and have slept 24 hour and was still tired.

have you had your bloods done vampirequeen?

I am a good napper. Is this unusual? as I told my neighbour I was in bed when she called at 4.30pm and her eyes nearly popped out of her head and I justified this by saying I do an early shift and physical job and only 40 minutes I need and then I can get up refreshed and be fine until I go to bed at night....she honestly acted as if I was completely weird...anyway confused

Fishwife - I’ve been on Zopiclone since my divorce 20 years ago. Even with that, I only sleep about 7 hours. I haven’t experienced any side effects. Of course if you can sleep without pills and potions , you are very lucky.

Thank you crazyH. Appreciate your reply. I only mentioned the 7-8 hours because I could never sleep this straight through without loo visits but it is recommended for the elderly. Very useful to hear of long term use after being given 14 and told to take for just 2-3 nights …..

I've had all sorts of tests done. Everything has come back OK. It's just the way I am. The opposite of an insomniac but just as tired.

An example of how deeply I sleep. Last night DH had an attack of vertigo about 10 feet away from where I was sleeping. He called my name, knocked over his oxygen cylinder and fell, banging his face into a glass cabinet (fortunately it didn't break). I slept through all of that. I eventually woke up as he fell onto the bed (and me).

I have been prescribed zopiclone for a few years now and tend to take them only a couple of times a week as I find if I take them every night for any amount of time they soon stop working..🙄🤷‍♀️

Thank you Shinamae. This is the sort of information I was hoping for when I posted.
