There's no specific treatment, but you'll probably be advised to make lifestyle changes if necessary (usual stuff - lose weight, keep walking, don't smoke). You'll possibly also have a cholesterol test and if you have high cholesterol, you'll be prescribed statins. If it gets really bad, a stent can be inserted to increase the blood flow.

You'll probably have a Doppler test. They put blood pressure cuffs on your arms and ankles and compare the blood pressure in your arms with your legs. It's totally painless and takes a few minutes.

After trying for weeks to get an appointment with my G.P. I finally got to see her yesterday. Apparently I have Peripheral Artery disease. I have to go next week for a range of tests to measure blood pressure in the limbs.
I've never heard of this before. I have been in a lot of pain when out walking each day with my dog. It didnt feel like arthritis pain.
I just wondered if anyone has experienced this before, and what type of treatment did you receive.
