Stroke and vision problems?

Thank you. Yes I’m finding it really difficult at the moment, it’s must be the hardest thing watching a loved one become frail. She’s so lonely and anxious, but I’ve suggested just about everything I can think of to improve things for her, but she’s so stubborn !
Just have to carry on and keep fingers crossed, that she doesn’t have another fall. 🤞

It’s really difficult and I feel for you. At least you have the comfort of knowing she has regular input from carers and actually there is little else you can do 💐

Hi. Just got home from mums. Her vision and dizziness are much better today. She had a similar episode 4 weeks ago, the GP came to see her and checked her bp, said he didn’t know what had happened , but there wasn’t anything he could do anyway.
We’ve been told before, there’s nothing to be done, and not to go to hospital, but mum and me are both anxious people and tend to panic. I would still take her if needs be. Just have to see how she gets on.

This definitely needs a medical assessment. Good luck.

Do the carers question your mum on her vision? Or do you have contact with them, she may not let them know.
I would consider this a red flag and want her checked over.

Thanks Marydoll. But she has carers four times a day, if they’d been any concerns so far they would have rang me. It’s pointless waking her, as she always feels poorly first thing, best to wait until she comes around a bit first.

If it was my mum, given her age, the unstable BP and blurred vision, I would be going over ASAP and seeking medical advice.

Hi Aldom. I’m waiting for her to wake up, which is usually about 3pm, I’m then going over to see her. The thing is she doesn’t want to go into hospital so will be reluctant to ring 111, but we’ll see how she is first. Thank you for your advice, I’ll be back later to let you know.

If I were you I think I would ring 111 today, asking for advice. If they are concerned regarding your mum's blurred vision they are able to refer you on for immediate assistance. Hope all goes well for your mum.
