Had right cataract removed last Wednesday and due to have second one done next Wednesday, ie two weeks later. Really thought I would sail through this but it isn't quite as easy as I imagined. The consultant did say at first consultation I had shallow chambers and blepharitis and therefore recover y
would be slower, ie could have blurring of vision for sometime (think he said it could last up to two weeks).

I'm using the drops and by midday the eye feels much better and vision clearer. The vision has definitely improved as I'm not needing to use a contact lens in the other eye as I can see quite well. Its just the blurriness that's worrying me. Also had some floaters in the eye two days post op but they seem to have almost cleared.

Just wondered if anyone else has been through the same and if they can remember when everything cleared and the world looked wonderful again!

Thanks Cactilover. Luckily I became an expert at a 'golfers lift' after my hip op! Will deploy these skills again. I'm planning a big shop on Monday and did a preliminary shop for treats and extras that DH would refuse to buy if he's doing the shopping for the next wee while!

Had both done this year first was a nightmare as the aesthetic didn’t work, second was a doddle and having gone from -12 in both to -2 seems well worth the pain (now)
All went well but some different drops the second time made me feel quite unwell, once off them I was fine and haven’t looked back

First night after was awful. Now awake but eye hurts too much to open it. I was told there'd be a feeling of grittiness but this feels like a ton of it. It's less than 24 hours since op so I'm hoping it improves. Not surprised that cornea not happy.

I am very surprised that people are saying they had post-op pain. I had both eyes done at the same time and I truly had nothing in the way of pain at all, either during or after the op. One lot of the drops stung a bit - that really was it.

Gosh you were lucky Luckygirl. I've had a little sleep and feel a bit better but eye still grittily sore when I open it. It's streaming too. Everything seems extra bright. Early days yet though

I hope the problems resolve quickly for you.

Had a great night's sleep and feel much better. Phew. Yesterday was awful. I can already see well with my new eye.

Aveline I had the second cataract done yesterday. Certainly feels better on day 1 than the right one did. Clarity is brilliant but still finding it difficult to read small print without glasses. I paid extra for the lens that should mean glasses are not necessary. I sympathise with the grittiness, had that with the first eye but the second doesn't appear to be the same. Seeing the consultant for a check up post op this evening so I'll probably find out more then. Glad you're feeling better. By the way I'm long sighted if that makes a difference.

Kiwiqueen123 right now I'm long sighted in my 'new' eye and v shortsighted in my unoperated one. After the second op I'll really need reading glasses as near vision will be terrible. I'm glad to hear your second op went well.
I was a mess yesterday. Eye weeping constantly as it tried to deal with the corneal scar. Also some pain. Paracetamol did the trick though. Today feels 100% better. Everything is brighter too. I Hadn't realised things had dimmed so much.
