SweetpeaSue I absolutely hate going round shops (especially for groceries - all that faffing about putting it on the belt, then packing, putting it in the car, bringing it all up our (steep) path. Why do these phone/broadband providers make things so difficult! We're with Virgin Media, get broadband and landline, calls to any other landlines are free for an hour at any time of day. £39 a month. Lovely that you've been invited for Christmas dinner at your son's. That'll be very nice.

Just been looking at last night's CCTV. Foxy came at 11pm, and is looking quite plump and healthy. Beautiful brush on him/her. He's eating a lot these days - 2 drumsticks and 2 chicken quarters every night.

Nadaterurbe What a lovely thought to make cards for your GSs. They must think they are v varied for to get them specially made. I'm afraid I'm useless at art but I did make a cross stitch pic and DH made a card of it and sent it to my GP who retired last Christmas. I wrote inside my thanks to her for believing in me and her help over the consultants cover up. She was so special too.Wonder if she still has it.
The talktalk acc was in my name so thought I had to do it all but in the end I just had to confirm my permission for DH to sort it. We decided to just have landline for phone calls in , as we can use our mobiles for calls out. It will save a lot, we didn't realise.
Son 2 will be working this Christmas so he texted that he'll do an early dinner and we and his fiancé's mum are invited so that will be nice. He actually loves cooking. My DH does good toast! 😂

Think you'll have to wait for contract to end. It is very stressful negotiating things. Can anyone help? We often pay more for insurance etc rather than bother. It's easier sometimes.

Doodle It's must be a relief to have your DH home -it should be so much easier. I hope he is OK and everything is well and there are no worries there. I hope you can get ease soon with the shoulder and back pain and it doesn't disturb your nights.Are you able to take painkillers? Sorry if you've already said. DH keeps saying we should get a tree like yours-much less faff. He's never got the tree out so early before but he said he wanted to take advantage of his shoulders being good at the time. We have no steps into loft and there's a gap between stepladders and loft which makes a dangerous manoeuvre to get up. He thinks he's still 40!🤷‍♀️
Scaredycat Nice words to EllieAnne from you and Doodle. Glad you had a nice lunch out with friend today. My mum had all her teeth out at 20 aswell.Its horrifying isn't it? When she went into hospital for an op she was just worried about being seen without her teeth . I could understand her fear 😔.Glad you've been able to get out a bit lately.
HVDY I used to have supermarket deliveries during covid but doing it in store with DH gives us an excuse to get out( I know! Sounds sad doesn't it?🤭)
Had full hr on phone with talktalk trying to get a hoisted increase of 15quid a month on our broadband/landlines bill decreased. Hardly understood a word she said and turned out I had a contract for calls and a different one for broadband. If went somewhere else we'd be hit with 167quid penalty! I couldn't get off ,she was going over same thing over and over .Was in such a state I handed over to DH and had to take Diazapam I was shaking. Just makes me feel I can't handle anything. Sorry-dont know where all that come from. I was ready to tell her to stuff it.

Nadateturbe Oh that sounds a horrid dentist visit, no wonder you've been put off crowns. I have 3 so far but the others weren't a big deal. Not keen on root canal but last one wanted to do the whole session in one go and was in chair just under 3hrs. I think I should have had 2 appts . How are you feeling today? Have you got any painting on the go? Lovely to have a visit from your son . Son 2 is still on rig and can't get home today because of strong wind.
EllieAnne Take some refreshment with you tomorrow in case of train delays.I hope everything goes alright for you. You really are a good mum and person and you do so much for everyone. Dreadful dreams last night which ended in tears. Much of it about past awful times , though I think coming off ADs could be responsible.
Good that I've had little pain today and got out for a little while to shop with DH.

nadateturbe Did you have a nice visit from your son? Did you have to cook, or was it a snack? I like the house to smell nice (DH often grills bacon and I hate the smell of it). I bought some large scented candles the other day, for that reason.

Doodle You deserve a dressing gown day! Have you got anything for your shoulder pain? Hot water bottle? Stuff to rub on? Yes, it's always very noisy in hospital, even at night. How's your husband feeling now? All the family had a cuddle with baby. She loved the attention .

ScaredyCat Aqua aerobics was good, thanks. Came straight home as my friend was going food shopping. I do all mine online (I've just ordered lots more stuff from Amazon for Xmas presents) Nice to meet up with your friends. Hope you had something good to eat.

EllieAnne- that was,brave having so much dental work in one go. You give yourself such a hard time EllieAnne- you are certainly not unloveable- you always do the best you can and do such a lot for your children. You are kind sympathetic and hard working. If your children show no appreciation then perhaps they are the ones with a problem. As Doodle,says it’s time you found something that gives you joy.
I really hope that your train journey goes smoothly and that you and yourDD can have a companiable time together. Yes don’t forget a few goodies for the journey.
Nadateturbe- my Mum had all her teeth out too whenI was very young. I remember going on family holiday and her not being able to eat easily.

Ellie Anne I didn’t have as many done as you but I have had both my front teeth crowned and I’m not happy either. The dentist explained to me that when they crown teeth the crowns fit over the bases of the old teeth so they have to be bigger. DH and I both think mine look like rabbit teeth. I often hide them when I’m having my photo taken.
Have you ever thought that the problems with your family are them not you? As far as I can see you bend over backwards to help them. You worry about them, support them, look after their children, drive long journeys to look after cats. I think you are a caring mother but somehow your children haven’t turned out as caring as they should be. That can happen. But perhaps it’s time to stop blaming yourself and start looking out for something in life that makes you happy. There and many, many mothers on GN who dont get on with their chialèrent for one reason or another. You only have to read the posts to see that. Are you going by train to see your DD I hope so. Safe journey.

Like me, he's relieved to have a diagnosis after 10 months of seeing doctors and having tests. I've sent him to Son2's to install (is that the correct term?) a few new sockets in the garage. How are you today?

EllieAnne I suppose it can take some time to get used to a difference in appearance. I bet your teeth look nice. You aren't unlovable at all. Like all families, problems arise and people don't always agree. What time is your train? I hope you've got a book and some snacks for the journey. How long will it take to get to your daughter's?

EllieAnne have you asked anyone's opinion on how your teeth look? It's such a problem having dental treatment. My mum had all her teeth out in her 20s. Had false teeth that looked good and no future problems.
EllieAnne having family problems doesn't mean you're unlovable. My daughter argued with me yesterday on the phone and can be very rude to me. . Most families have problems at times and disagree. From your posts you sound like a very caring friend and mother. Don't put yourself down.
As for the trains, if there are problems, you will cope. But most likely you will be OK and have a nice time. My daughter is in the south of England with frequent train strikes. When she gets the train she makes sure she has snacks and drinks in case they are stuck somewhere.

I had 6 front teeth crowned last year. My teeth were badly filled and a bridge.im not completely happy with it they look a bit false . Were quite expensive. The dentist who did them may redo them next year if they haven’t settled.
Feeling so low. More problems with family. Feel I must be such an unlovable person. I can’t cope with how I feel about myself.
Worrying about trains tomorrow in case there are any problems.

I wouldn't have the courage for getting crowns. Last time I almost fainted and it was so sensitive to touch that they redid it. Never again. I have a 2 tooth plastic denture- molars RHS.. I hate it and only wear it on special occasions. So sad about it. I would love to have good teeth. When I was a child I didn't even have a toothbrush.
Anyway enough of me. I do hope yours works out for you. And your hair done too. You have a very helpful husband. I bet you feel so much better. Teeth and hair are so important to how you feel.

Coffee and cake, lovely. I had cappuccino and scone. Glad you got out for a while. Motivation is a big problem when you're depressed, especially when you're wondering if pain will return. Perhaps if you get some port and put on some Christmas music and sing along you'll get in the mood🍷🎄.

SweetpeaSue I know what you meant - although I have got chubby chops (and everything else) although nowhere like my face was when I was on the steroids. She's just gone home, so DH is doing our dinner - I'm having seabass with lime and coriander, dauphinoise potatoes, mixed veg. He's having chicken instead of fish. I've got my jamas on .

HVDY Glad you've had a nice time with baby and son and family. I used to take GS to feed the ducks and he used to eat the bread which made us laugh. You little chubby chops will love coming to you . It was DH that got the tree out but I just don't feel like decorating it. We never usually have it out this early. Not into Christmas spirit at all. Maybe it's time for the M&S port.

SweetpeaSue I'd love to have beautiful teeth. DH has never even had a filling (he's 65). Both sons and their GFs have got lovely teeth. You've got your Christmas tree out? You know it's November . It feels better when the white roots have been done, doesn't it?

Had a very good day - picked up Baby Face at 10, used Son2's car, came here and played, etc. Took her to the park to feed the ducks - she wasn't at all interested - so I enjoyed myself feeding swans, geese, ducks, etc. Came back after 2 hours, she slept for a while. Son1, his girls, GF and her boy all came round, all mae a fuss of baby (she was cooing and smiling). They went at 6, she's now asleep but is going home at 7. It's been tiring but lovely x

Doodle Wonderful news that DH is home with you at last. Re hospital beds-1 in 1 out-like a conveyor belt. You must be tired after the long hospital wrangle but hopefully it will be a lot easier than all the back and forth and give your back a rest. So pleased he's home at last.

HVDY I hate Dental visits. My last root canal is still without crown as it was still sensitive and she wasn't sure if it had failed (she'd sent me to an Endodontist-root canal specialist too!) so scared to find out the verdict. It would be great to have whiter teeth (or even all teeth🫣)

Lazy day really as motivation is huge problem .Tree stood in corner and still sadly undressed. Spent over an hr Trying to find broadband/landlines calls deal after contract expired and charges doubled. Huge fun!! But I went out and so a positive -plus DH did my roots so hair white no more.

I agree, life is mostly wonderful. I think it was just reminding the reader to be realistic. It was a good self help book, can't remember much, must look at it again.
I love all my siblings (4 living, 2 died 11 years ago.)
Family is really important to me, even though we don't meet often. Aunts (mum's sisters) and cousins too, we meet in a local hotel every few months.
