After many years of suffering with regular prolonged migraines and other types of headaches, I seem to have stumbled across a cure and wanted to share incase it helps anyone else. Three months ago I started on Sertraline, prescribed for depression. I have not had a migraine/other headache since. Has anyone else found Sertraline cured their migraines? I would be interested to hear any thoughts on this.

No, but I am on a cocktail of medication following a heart operation and for the first time in 52 years I'm free from migraines, and oh what a surprise and joy!

I’ve suffered from migraines for more than 50 years. Since I’ve been on blood thinners and heart medication (since September) I haven’t even had a headache.

Have suffered with migraines since I was nine. Only medication that stopped them was a medicine usually prescribed for epilepsy. Side effects were reduced appetite (yippee!) and, less fortunately, horrible visual disturbances. After several months I came off them as the migraines returned. If I take a sumatriptan injection the migraine does stop for several hours,

3 aspirins and a strong cup of coffee get rid of my migraine.
Dr (in covid year) told me to try that as soon as I had first symptoms of Migraine. Works well for me. Better than other migraine drugs I’ve tried in the past

My migraines seem to be triggered by hunger, cold and certain foods (mostly cheap ice cream, tinned curry products and cheese sauce from a jar). I don't have tips for a cure but I found several years ago that I don't get the pain if I stay sitting up with my head upright. For years I'd been going to bed and getting horrendous head pain, which developed on whichever side I was lying on. I also take a pink Migraleve as soon as the visuals come, as the pain will come no matter what if I don't. So, my way of coping is pink Migraleve and staying upright. Not much help, probably, but it just might work for someone reading this.

That's incredible! I'm curious, did your doctor suspect the Sertraline would help with migraines or was it a happy surprise?
