I have AMD and a pinched nerve in my spine, which is very painfu. I also suffer from anxiety. Years ago, i must have suffered a breakdown.

Gossamer that must be so difficult to live with. How are you coping at the moment?

Oh what a difficult thing to live with. It must make many things very challenging . How long have you been dealing with it?
It must have contributed to your anxiety as well. Are you on any meds for the anxiety? Many of us here have experience of anxiety and also pain.

Hello Gossamer I'm so sorry that you have so much to deal with. You are welcome here to talk about your difficulties. We all try to support each other. No magic wands but just caring words of support. Life can be very hard and I do hope you have adequate medication for your pain. Some here have medication for anxiety or depression too and some don't.

Husband has been in bed 3 days with something that resembles covid but isn't. And I am having to go up and down the stairs all day, and do everything alone! Oh for a bungalow!

Thank you for your kind words it means a lot to me especially with all you are going through with your husband and your health you show what a big heart you have and how much you care for others. Yesterday, DH and I went to Trent Bridge, had a pub lunch. Son1 rang me - he and 2 children were in our house! He wondered where we were (they're all so used to us just sitting here all day). We walked a little way along the embankment, then went home as it was raining. DH doing a job at Son2's later, so we'll see Chubby Chops, although we're having her all day on Tuesday. We're ALL meeting up next Weekend.

Doodle- hope you had a better night last night- it’s hard when you feel down and worried though isn’t it. Glad the cough is easing.
Nadateturbe- no need for apologies you must rest when you can . Stairs are very tiring aren’t they- they make me feel weird often.
Hope DH starts to get better soon - thank goodness it isn’t Covid.
Your painting is lovely a really good composition. I like the colours too especially the rocks. What a lovely place it looks.
Whiff - you write so movingly about your life with DH. I think you had a very special husband.
HVDY- isn’t it funny how your AC expect you to be where they think you always are!!! Lovely that they had called in though.

You,re right we are as old as we feel- which ranges from 150 down to about 5 ( in my head) !!!!

Doodle I'm glad you and DH's cough seems better. At least you don't have that on top of everything else. I hope your night was better and the RLS isn't still affecting your DH and he is building up his strength.
HVDY Glad you're having chubbychops next week. She seems to be growing so fast-doesnt seem long since she was born, let alone teething. Do hope you're feeling better now.
Scaredycat Nice to meet your DD for coffee and have a walk together. It was overcast here but we got out for a walk today too and it usually makes you feel better. A hot drink after the fresh air always seems better too.
Nadateturbe I hope your DH is soon better. You will be swapping places at this rate. I really like your painting-what a beautiful place it must be. I was wondering what the orange flowers were in amongst the rocks. My aunt has something simular in her garden that she says are called Fox Cubs which is a lovely name.
EllieAnne Hope if you went to church this morning you saw some friends.
Candy It must be quite a scary thing to think of stopping work when you've been in paid work so long. I think you will probably be kept busy with your DGS and swimming and be free to go to your caravan whenever you feel like it. It can be nice to do things spontaneously.

Grateful for a good day today. Walked on beach and went to coffee shop afterwards. We were both 'creaking' but appreciate things like that so much more.

Scaredycat it must be nice to have somewhere local to eat out. We used to have a couple of places but they closed down. We still have a posh place but I don’t like the food.

Sweetpeasue RLS is such a pain. It affects his body not just the legs. Hoping tonight is a better one.

How's everyone been today? I did aqua aerobics, had brunch (omelette) at the pub, with my friend. Put my new bedding on (I don't know why I keep buying more), had 2 lots of washing on the line. DH is cooking a roast dinner (chicken). Hope ALL BDers have a cosy evening - the wind is howling here. x

Doodle Hope you and Dh had a better night. Wish I knew the answer for the RLS. Remember you saying it affected the whole of his body which must be truly terrible for him. You must have researched all options for remedies and it must be so complicated when taking into account all his medications. I wonder if a new one might have made it worse. He seemed to have a reprieve for a spell. Yes thankyou the walk helped a lot.
HVDY So pleased you got out for the aqua-aerobics and nice lunch with friend. Lovely dinner coming from your DH too(my favourite). Nothing like new bedding, I got some nice fitted sheets and pillowcases couple of weeks ago.

Needed meds in early hrs and did a few house jobs then got call from aunt in right state. Her daughter had blocked chimney with papers in binbag to stop birds/soot falls . She has been using plug in radiators for nearly a Yr and not allowed to use open fire. She'd suddenly decided she'd light a fire and forgotten chimney was blocked! Lots of smoke but fire had gone out fortunately so she soon settled after cup of tea.
Then absolutely racked with pain a couple of hrs ago and have been so distraught and a wreck. So glad Pain Management appt tomorrow and will take everything to ensure I get there.

Thank you all for your concern. It's 20 years tomorrow my husband died so going out for the day as I don't want to end up a sodden mess I was Friday.

Doodle has any Dr suggested Clonazepam for your husband's RLS? I had limb jerks for 32 years and 4 months of seizures my neurologist put me on 500 micrograms twice a day which is the lowest dose. Within 2 weeks my limbs where still and not had a jerk or seizure since. Had to increase my dose March last year to 1mg twice a day. Not because the limb jerks or seizures but because my legs felt like they had planks attached when I walked.

I used to have the limb jerks in my sleep my husband said he needed a suit of armour not PJs . I always knew when I had them in my sleep because I was in agony the next morning.
It's just a thought .

Did you know there is a R L S charity. Google it they might be able to help him..

I know a lot of you are going through bad times with your own health and that of your loved ones . Hopefully you will get the help everyone needs. 💐

Sweetpeasue hope the pain clinic helps you. I have been in pain for as long as I can remember. My parents took me to the doctors and hospital from an early age and told it was growing pains and all the falls was I was clumsy . And am used to it. To be honest if it suddenly stopped I would think I was about to die. I suppose being in pain for nearly 66 years has made me the person I am . Having the extended family and my husband's love got me through everyday. And because of them I keep going. Plus my daughter and her family. And friends accepting me for me.

I take 10mg Amptriplyine 3 times a day for nerve pain and 2 co codamol twice a day on bad days take an extra 2 . I have learnt tolerate the pain .

Fingers crossed for you Sweetpeasue .

Whiff I do hope tomorrow passes as best it can for you. Good idea to go out and be distracted as much as you can.
Kind of you to help with suggestions for Doodle and the RLS.

I can see that being in pain so long it has become a large part of you and you have known no different. You are inspirational that you have found ways to live with and around it.
I've been asked by PM Dr to go up to 50mg a night Amitriptyline. I'll see how I manage. Take 2×30mg co-codamol with pain but having to take 5mls Oramorph with it at least once a day lately. I will see what is said tomorrow at PM appt.
I don't know how to live with this amount of pain and am feeling terribly overwhelmed with what it is doing.

What a bad thing to be told, as a child, that you were clumsy be cause of your limb jerks , which were because of your condition. It's inconceivable a Dr would say such a thing these days.
