For the support, understanding and sharing of mental health issues.
All are welcome. We treat each other with kindness.

Doodle Sat 16-Mar-24 16:47:02

HVDY yes I’m on antibiotics and they are making me nauseous. I have meds for that too. Just don’t feel good. Constant warm dull headache and cough. Too tired to do anything. Hoping I pick up soon
Dressing change was painful which meant neither of us got much sleep last night but has been better today.
My goodness that’s a sleepy baby. Hope you have a good time with her. Glad you didn’t get caught in the rain.
Sweetpeasue I have an inhaler for my asthma so I’m using that but the coughing makes me out of breath.
Hope you had a nice time with aunt. We had some lovely sunshine here hope you did too.
Worrying about your DH do you think you should phone the GP.
You’re right it’s difficult to keep hold of faith sometimes. I am reading a book at the moment called God on mute about unanswered prayers. It puts forward some thought provoking points of view.
Whiff you’ve been through so much yourself but always find time to come here and encourage us. You write such lovely posts.
nadateturbe thank you for your love and prayers. Hope you had a better night. Glad you had some fun time on Wednesday.
nanny hope you get your car back soon.
Ellie Anne hope you have something nice to do this weekend.
Scaredycat have a lovely holiday.
Wyllow thinks of you always.
Sorry it another short one. Still not feeling up to much. Thank you for all your kind wishes and thoughts, xx

HowVeryDareYou2 Sat 16-Mar-24 15:55:01

Doodle, are you currently taking antibiotics for the chest infection? Also, how did your husband fare at the doctor's appointment? I hope that today is a better day for both of you.

Whiff, I must commend you on your thoughtfulness towards others despite the many challenges you have faced in life. Your kindness does not go unnoticed.

SweetpeaSue I hope today has been better for both you and your husband. I bet your aunt was glad to see you.

nadateturbe, ScaredyCat, EllieAnne, Wyllow3, Nanny*, Candy and ALL BDers - hope you're ok today.

Baby Girl slept 10pm to 4.30am then had some milk and slept again until 9am! I fed the 2 cats, let them out for a while, then sorted out baby when I got home. Went to a park, she went on a swing. It was bitterly cold but sunny. Did abit of shopping, got in just as it began raining. x

Sweetpeasue Sat 16-Mar-24 12:57:15

Doodle Hope you have a more restful day today. The breathlessness is concerning though. Do you need an inhaler? (Sorry if you've already said). I think the pacemaker was meant to help breathlessness. I hope it's better today for you.
Whiff You are always so kind to everyone here but when I read of everything you have to cope with and your own pain and disabilities I feel lucky and ashamed at complaining about my own stuff. There's always someone worse off isn't there?
HVDY Hope your cough is getting better. Must be nice to see your little GD this weekend and I hope she is back to her usual self and eating better. I think sleep is very healing when they are so young.
* Nadateturbe* I usually leave my mobile phone downstairs as I expect sons would call the landline if anything was wrong. My mob seems to bleep at the slightest notification. I'm bad at remembering to alter sound.I find it so hard to keep faith but somehow I feel there's something more than this life.
This thread and everyone on it reminds me that others all have their own problems and health conditions to overcome.

We got aunt out this morning as hadn't taken her out last week. Sun is shining through the clouds. Hoping everyone is OK. Thinking of EllieAnne and hope you can manage to get out for a walk this weekend.

nadateturbe Sat 16-Mar-24 09:16:08

I agree Whiff. Others here really inspire me with their strength and ability to keep going, to find pleasure in life and to care for others in spite of so many problems.. And make me realise how lucky I am.

Whiff Sat 16-Mar-24 07:06:43

I have been reading and sorry for all you are going through so much physical and mental health plus the worry for loved ones just makes your own health worse. But you still write and support eachother even suffering yourself.

I have said it before you don't know how much courage and strength you all show . Your honesty helps more people than you think . As many people just read.

No matter what life throws at you , you battle one and that gives others the strength to do the same. You are all an inspiration and should be very proud of yourselves.

I can't believe it's coming up to 1,000 posts already . Hope this thread continues as the speed it's filled up shows it's needed more than ever.
Your are all warrior Queens leading the way to help eachother and others . 👸.

Wyllow3 Sat 16-Mar-24 00:16:38

Caught up with your days xx
Night night all.

Doodle Fri 15-Mar-24 21:56:09

Sorry all had to take DH to Gp appointment today. It was raining and I been breathless ever since. Hope you’re all ok. Will catch up with you all tomorrow xx

nadateturbe Fri 15-Mar-24 21:47:43

I'm leaving my phone downstairs as its recommended not to do screens in the bedroom to help better sleep. Anything's worth a try.

Wishing everyone a peaceful night.
Thinking of you all.xx

nadateturbe Fri 15-Mar-24 21:41:40

HVDY I hope your little GD is OK. She does seem to be extremely sleepy. I can't remember much though about baby sleep patterns. I wonder did she not sleep well last night.
I hope your cough eases soon. I didn't know that about liquorice. Maybe some honey in warm water would help.
You've a busy weekend ahead of you. I'm sure your children appreciate all your help, although I know you will enjoy having baby to yourself.
Good advice yo Nanny2507 about an online shop.
Doodle I hope you are both OK. Thinking of you. Sending much love, hugs and prayers. xx

nadateturbe Fri 15-Mar-24 21:32:09

Sweetpeasue a very thoughtful caring post to Doodle. And I understand what you say about faith. It's very difficult at times. I have a couple of hymns which help. And oddly enough the sermon on Sunday on my online service was about God keeping promises even though we think he has deserted us.
I hope your pain eases soon. And your husbands. It must be worrying that his vision was affected. I wonder if you told the GP, would it help get the scan quicker. (As far as I remember you are waiting for one?). Well done on making dinner in spite of the pain.
I also think it's ridiculous that your physio would be stopped for missing it. I think as long as we give them some notice it should be ok. Sick people are bound to miss appointments.
I'm OK today, went out for a couple of hours for a coffee and looking round a couple of favourite shops.
Yesterday was spent in my pj's half asleep the whole day. But it was worth it to have been out on Wednesday.

Sweetpeasue Fri 15-Mar-24 16:57:58

HVDY Aw your little GD must be a little bit under the weather as you say. She sounds very much at home and comfortable with you. Good to know that Covonia has liquorice in it - hope your tum settles soon. I've had a bad day and DH has had better. Worrying that his vision became blurry in one eye for a good 20mins.
Scaredycat Thankyou for that kind hug. Wishing you a lovely holiday next week. I know it's always a bit scary beforehand-Ive been the same- but you'll be OK once there. Hopefully weather will be better and it should be nice for you.
Nanny Your pain sounds horrible. I'm so sorry you're having a bad time of it. I hope your car is ready soon. What a huge expense! I hope you can get some relief from that pain with some painkillers. They usually have side affects but I know I'd be lost without mine. Your pain is in so many places and it must be really difficult to do everyday things with your hands being so bad.
EllieAnneCandy Hope you're both OK today. Sorry not to address all.

Dragged myself all doped up to physio for knee this morning. Had cancelled before because of pain and tongue appt so had been told I'd not have any more if cancelled again! Was only in 5mins. Then dropped off B card for son. We came straight home. DH had head pain and my bladder pain back with vengeance. Feels like another bout coming on but done some dinner for DH. Think I'll need that covonia HVDY!

Really hope everyone struggling gets a break and better times are to come.love to all.x

Sweetpeasue Fri 15-Mar-24 15:55:19

HVDY I do hope the cough is a bit better today. Oh you have your little one from 9am today all weekend. You are such a good GM and parent to your family. Should imagine you'll be extremely tired even in good health , I hope you're not poorly today.
Doodle I really feel for you both. I hope your chest infection is a little better today and your DH doesn't get it. You've both had so much and I can only imagine how terrible it must be to have the worry of your DH's operation hanging over you. Physically and mentally it takes it's toll. I hope you can stay spiritually strong too as I know how much your faith helps but it must be so very difficult. ( no way was that meant to be intrusive-I just know from personal experience how difficult it can be). You both need a break and I'm sorry you had to cancel the holiday. You need something to look forward to and you can make arrangements for another after DH's op and he has fully recuperated. I'm sure it won't be easy but we need to believe that 'this will pass' and I say we as I need to believe it too.
I hope your back is better today-thats all you need right now. I'm sending you a huge hug and just want to put you both inside a big protective bubble that follows you through all of this. x
Nadateturbe I hope you are OK. I know you find it difficult to post at times and you always show such caring for everyone.

Will come back later.

HowVeryDareYou2 Fri 15-Mar-24 15:42:54

Nanny2507 It's a long time to be without your car. Have you got effective pain relief? Could you do an online shop?

Doodle I hope your nausea has subsided and that you've had something to eat. All the coughing causes tiredness. How's your husband today?

nadateturbe This cough started on Monday night. DH got me some Corvonia cough syrup last night. It contains liquorice, and we know what effect that has....... 4 times this morning - so I've now thrown it away. How are you?

SweetpeaSue How are you today? And your husband?

ChubbyChops is here (came at 11), but is a bit under the weather - no temperature or anything, but after 30mins of playing wanted to sleep (she goes to sleep very quickly in DH's arms), and did so for 2 1/2hours! After a bit of lunch (not much at all) and a play, she's gone to sleep again! Parents have gone away for the weekend. I'll be seeing to the cats later. Hope ALL BDers are ok. x

Wyllow3 Fri 15-Mar-24 00:02:13

Night night, thinking of you all xx

nadateturbe Thu 14-Mar-24 21:55:14

Doodle you sound really tired and fed up. And no wonder. So many health problems for you both and it just seems to go on. Sometimes it's hard to understand why.
I'm glad the nausea isn't so bad and you've been able to eat a little. You need some nourishment to keep you going.
I pray that you get the strength you need to cope at the minute. And that things improve soon for you both. Sending much love xx

nadateturbe Thu 14-Mar-24 21:35:07

Nanny2507 sorry you've to wait so long for your car. I understand how painful and debilitating your condition is. Could you maybe get some time off work until you have your car?

nadateturbe Thu 14-Mar-24 21:31:10

HVDY I too would miss my car.
Perfect lunch! One of my favourite meals including the black forest gateau. I'm sure you enjoyed it.
I hope your cough eases, it's come on very suddenly.

nadateturbe Thu 14-Mar-24 21:23:57

Scaredycat Ancient Egypt was a repeat. I didn't know, so perhaps you've seen it.
I hope you have a lovely holiday next week. And I hope the ADs help with the anxiety. I agree about making the most of each day, and being appreciative. There is usually some little thing to be thankful for. Although when you are suffering badly its not always possible to think like that.

nadateturbe Thu 14-Mar-24 21:11:06

Candy meant to say, your day sounds really busy! But enjoyable.

nadateturbe Thu 14-Mar-24 21:06:44

Candy your little munchkin- what a lovely way to describe him. You must love having him there. You'll be able to see him more when you retire. When do you actually stop? And I too miss the craic at work, but you are still very active. I'm sure you'll have lots of social interaction with others, whatever you do.

Doodle Thu 14-Mar-24 19:42:12

nanny I’m so sorry. How hard for you to get around. Sorry you are in such pain I hadn’t realised before.
Is you son and his parter able to help with shopping and stuff?
Hope you get your car and scooter back soon.
HVDY sorry you’ve got such a bad cough. I’ve had chest infection since coming back from hospital. It’s exhausting isn’t it. Hope you’re better by the weekend so it doesn’t stop you enjoying the little one.
Scaredycat I think you look after yourself so well and do all you can to keep body and mind going. Like you I don’t like to go over things with MHTeam. It helps some but not me.
Hope you have a lovely time away next week and the weather is kind to you.
Candy when I decided to retire I was worried about how I’d feel missing the social contact. The day I retired I felt very sad, a but maudlin and thinking I’m not going to see most of these people again. Within a couple of days I was right as rain. Positive in going forwards. I definitely made the right decision I hope it works out well for you too. Have a lovely time with your DgS.
Sweetpeasue we are very lucky to have family and friends to help out. I think DH and I are struggling every day as there seems no end in sight to our situation. We’ve just had to cancel out holidays this year as we won’t be able to go and the thought of DH going back into hospital fills us with dread.
I’ve still got the nausea but it’s better today and I’ve managed to eat a little. Now I’ve got a really bad back and can’t stand up for long.
I’m sure it’s depression that’s giving you the flat feeling. Hope the MH team can help. Hope your DH is feeling better.
nadateturbe Wyllow and Ellie Anne thinking of you all.
Sorry I’ve not caught up with all the news and not writing much. Take care all and sleep well 💕💕

nanny2507 Thu 14-Mar-24 19:03:08

Hi all. Car not fixed. Won't be fixed until at least next Wednesday. The radiator is split. Going to cost just over 1k to fix its not covered by my warranty which is so annoying. The garage is 15 miles away. I live in a tiny tiny village so can't go anywhere. My pain is caused by psoriatic arthritis. I can barely use my hands. I only have two unaffected fingers. I also have it in my feet and my back and now my right wrist. The pain is unreal. Much love to all x

HowVeryDareYou2 Thu 14-Mar-24 18:22:10

SweetpeaSue I hope today has been better for you. I, too, wake early (always about 5.30) and my mind won't stop racing. You'll have the wedding to look forward to. The weather should be nice at that time of year, too.

Candy6 You're always so busy. Nice that you're so involved with your GS. Do you get on well with your MIL? Is she coping ok now?

ScaredyCat I hope you have a lovely holiday next week. The weather should hopefully be decent. DH and I are going to have a few days in Norfolk in May.

Hope everyone has been ok today. It was lasagne and garlic bread, then Black Forest gateau at the day centre. I've been up since 6 - coughing such a lot all night then today. Gpt BabyCakes all weekend, from 9am tomorrow x

HowVeryDareYou2 Thu 14-Mar-24 18:14:15

Nadaterturbe Glad you enjoyed your day with your friends. It sounds very good.

Doodle So sorry you're unwell. You've got such a lot to deal with, you're probably run-down. Hope you've got someone who can help you a bit.

Nanny2507 What's taking so long with your car? I hope it gets fixed soon. We rely on our cars, don't we? (I'd be lost without mine).

Scaredycat Thu 14-Mar-24 12:17:39

Doodle- was so glad to hear from you but so sorry that you are feeling so unwell. Please don’t worry about posting- just take care of yourself and try and get some strength back. You have both suffered so much for so long no wonder you are fatigued.I do hope there is somebody who can help you if necessary. Keep warm, hydrated and try to eat something if possible. I know we are all thinking of you . Sending love and healing hugs to you both.x
SweetPeaSue- sorry life is so difficult for you to bear at the
moment. The BP meds seem to be helping lower your DH readings ,that’s a good thing. I think from how you describe your feelings an increase in your ADs would help- can you ask your GP?
Getting older definitely affects your mental health- the decline in physical ability has a knock on effect mentally. I am much older than most of us here and can only say try to make the most of each day- the simple pleasures as well as big ones. It’s hard though when you feel so down. 💐 and a hug coming your way.x
HVDY- I feel the same as you about talking about my MH with a stranger. Going over the past and its horrors over and over is not good for me but I know it helps many people.
Hope all the family are well and that your DH appt next week brings you both some answers. He has waited far too long.
Nadateturbe- it must have been lovely to have the Birthday video call- he did do well. You must miss him.
I love things about Egypt- might give it a look if I can prize the control box away from DH😀
So pleased you had such a lovely time yesterday- it sounded like a great day . Art,friends and food - just the job. Hope you are ok today.
Nanny- what a difficult time for you and expensive too. Couldnt the garage have returned your scooter to you.
You shouldn’t have had to be in pain unnecessarily. Hope you get the car back soon. You needed that rant!!
Candy- you have a busy day ahead- lovely though to be with DGS and able to see family later. I hope your MiL is getting on ok - it seems quite a while since she lost her husband.
I,m ok thanks - just tired but that’s nothing new!! I,m so glad you had a good holiday- we are going away next week - I love to travel but anxiety likes to come with me too- hope the ADs will help this time.
Wyllow- sending love as always
Love to all
