Hello all.
My Son arrived home at midnight- after a journey of many problems including strikes!! Can’t tell you how good it was to hug him again and get a big bear hug back .
I,m having a rest today as I really overdid it yesterday but the joy of seeing my Son and Daughter together was so worth it.
Doodle- it must have been so lovely to wake up and see DH back home where he belongs. Do hope the cough clears up,soon - in the meantime rest and enjoy being together.
Whiff- thank you for your kind post. It’s always sad when he goes but we talk on face time most weeks which is so good to be able to see him. Just happy to have him with us now.
HVDY- that is a long wait for your DH CT scan. He must have felt fed up.
Hope you have a nice lunch today. Yes the ferns sounded lovely but I guess they are quite intricate and also through glass!
SweetPeaSue- hope your psychology appt went well.

Whiff Thank you for that. I started a new painting a couple of days ago. Gerns in glass vases. I'm giving up on that, it's far more detailed than I'd realised. Got a new one on order. Have you done any more baking/cooking for your group lately?

Hope ALL BDers manage to have a decent day. I'm going to go to the day centre place. DH's hospital appointment for this morning (for CT scan of his thyroid) has been cancelled (now March). x

HVDY sorry I forgot to say how beautiful your flower and bee painting was. I am glad you found your love of painting. Hope you find it relaxing and all your worries float away while doing it . It's how I feel about my cross stitch.

Doodle did the hospital give your husband any gentle exercises to do too build he's muscles and strength back up . If not I have a few gentle exercises we do at sit fit that might help him. Also a friend of my found hydrotherapy has helped her. Its at her local hospital and they have hot towels to wrap them in and tea and biscuits before they get dry . She's found how much her muscles have strengthen and her stamina has improved she has cancer , fibromyalgia and discs in her back giving her pain and mobility issues.

Scardeycat hope your son arrived safely. Have a wonderful time with him . I know it will be heartbreaking when he leaves but you always have your memories. And hopefully see him again even ifs it another year. Do you can't remember what it's called but when you talk on the computer and can see them ? I know it's not the same thing but at least you keep in touch. Plus texts ,phone calls and photos.

Thinking about everyone else and hope your pains aren't to bad and wish I had a magic wand to make you all pain free. 🧚

I have got a hacking cough. Really annoying. It happens every time I spend a period visiting DH in hospitals. Got a chest infection last time too. So, so glad I’m home so at least I can rest in a comfy chair and make hot drinks. So lovely to have DH here again. We’ve had a quiet day.

How's everyone's day been? It's been sunny here. Met SIL (widow of brother2) and her daughter, had a pub lunch (not very nice). Brother's car has been fixed (very quick service there), so he's happy. DH's hospital appointment tomorrow has been cancelled, put back to the end of March. Been doing my painting (it's addictive). x

Surprise News, we’re going home. Complete shock docs say DH ok for discharge, we have meds just waiting for transport.

Scaredycat must have been very windy where you are likewise here. I was lucky the car missed being hit by a tree branch. Lots of stuff over the roads. Better today though and much warmer.

Haven’t said before as I always worry something will go wrong but tomorrow my son will come and stay for a week - it’s been almost a year since he was in UK. Can’t wait to give him a big hug.

Afraid today been like yesterday. Thankyou for the tip about separating the tablets. I take one co-codamol first(meant to kick in about 25mins after) but its so bad I might go back to having both together as I'm just in pain longer as I wait to see if it helps. Having to take oramorph with them. Thankyou for your concern--you've enough to cope with.

HVDY Your brother must have completely opposite nature to yourself. It must be difficult to say the least. Nice .you could have baby doll again. I do have a hot water bottle -doesnt help the pain-more a psychological comfort really.

nadateturbe How are you and your husband today? When did he have Covid? DH, Son1 and I had effects of long covid after having it 2 1/2 years ago - one side-effect was hair loss (handfuls used to come out, for a few months. Thankfully grown back)

Doodle The girls get on well with the boy - they're quite loud and can be OTT (like their mother), whereas he's quiet, but they seem to be ok together. How are things with your husband?

It's been a lazy day - I didn't fancy aqua aerobics, but my friend wasn't going anyway. Baby Doll was here for 3 hours this afternoon - DIL and her daughter went to the cinema, which was nice for them. They've all just gone, so DH is making us a curry . Hope everyone's ok in this windy weather. x

Sweetpeasue that pain sounds unbearable. When DH came into hospital he was on cocodamol but they persuaded him to take them separately as they said each co codamol had 500mg of paracetamol which won’t do much on its own. They suggested he took 30g of codeine and two 500g paracetamol as it would be a better pain killer. Not sure if that would be any help to you but just thought I’d mention it.
So hope today is better.
HVDY sorry I couldn’t remember which was which. How nice your son gets on with his stepson. Do the girls get on with him too. Must be nice for them to have a family unit.
Ellie Anne glad you made it to church ok. It’s been really windy. If your son 2 can go to the funeral, could he take his dad?

SweetpeaSue How awful for you. Bladder pain is bad enough when there's an infection, but yours sounds much more unpleasant. I hope it eases off soon - does a hot water bottle help at all? Brother gets very low about things in his life, but he's always been a pessimist. I suggested he sees his GP and gets the dose of his ADs increased (of course, the problems/worries will still be there, but he'd be able to cope better. He alienates people, so he's alone a LOT. Our dad was just the same.

Doodle Son1 is the one with 2 girls and a stepson, Son2 has a baby and a stepdaughter - these blended families nowadays . Hope you get good news from the doctors tomorrow.

EllieAnne Glad you got to church ok. Hope you found someone to chat with. It's blowing like mad outside. (Nottingham).

Dear* Doodle*. You have so much to cope with yourself. I was thinking of posting again about it as its been so bad but now you've asked ,feel I can open up. Hope it doesn't sound like a continual moan.
Just got extremely bad a few hrs ago. Like a boring pain in waves through bladder. Took teaspoon oramorph and a 30mg co-codamol. Honestly felt like in labour. Half hr later took 2nd co-codamol. 20 mins later because I was still in agony, took 2nd teaspoon Oramorph and 2 Ibuprofen. I've been so scared as it only settled about 3/4 hr after taking the last oramorph dose.
Been crying and panting with it, breathing exercises useless for it.

I just don't understand. Test strips -no sign of UTI but I took a nitrifurantoin, just in case.

I feel like there's a voodoo doll of myself somewhere and someone's sticking pins in it. Urinating brings on more pain but drank lots of water anyway.
Sorry everyone. Laid here doped up again and finally at some stage of peace. For now.

Just thankyou for listening everyone. I feel so alone.
