Joya make very comfortable boots which support the ankles and fit orthotics in easily. Ankle support is very important although boots in hot weather are annoying. My Joya boots have lasted a very long time so worth every penny.

I don’t have your problems but do need wide, supportive shoes and I find Widerfit shoes excellent. You can buy them online and they make it easy to measure your own feet. They were recommended by my chiropodist.

My podiatrist is another who advises against sketchers because of poor support.

I wear Skechers. However every physio and podiatrist I have seen swears against them as they are insufficiently supportive.
The orthotics department will give you the best advice, they may supply you with shoes or adapt some of your own. I was given custom made insoles, my problem is different but back related.

Perhaps a pair in the larger size but with extra padding / socks / insoles for the smaller foot?

I have spinal stenosis and as a result of an acute incident where spinal nerves were trapped I had a semi paralysed very swollen leg and foot. Nearly 2 years of physio later the leg is in use if weak and prone to 'giving way'. The ankle remains swollen and the foot has dropped. I wear Skechers mostly and can just about bear a Gabor shoe for an event for a short time. My golf shoes are Skechers with integral arch support and although initially difficult to wear they are now the most comfortable to wear for long periods so I suppose arch supports are the answer. If you are going to orthotics dept I think they would sort you out Seetpea. Good Luck I hope it improves for you.

My friend has spinal stenosis and I don’t know how her symptoms vary from yours.
However I can say she wears nothing but Skechers shoes.
Even when we go out for meals ,fairly dressed up , she still wears her Skechers, she has many pairs in different colours and actually some sparkly ones.
I hope you get some proper advice from your professionals.
