Bloating and ovarian cancer

Like other posters say, this is a routine test especially for older women with bloating and back pains.My Mum had an ultra sound to check for ovarian cancer.
It wasn’t and the technician there said that most weren’t, and more likely to be a change in diet needed.Good to check tho.

Still havnt had my results. The waiting is giving me sleepless nights and making my bloating worse. Hope to hear something on Monday!

I do think some HCPs don't think before they speak. Unless you asked why the test would be done, she should be keeping her reason to herself until the results are through which won't take long....but long enough for you to be losing sleep over it.

Good luck with the next step and I hope it turns out to be something easily treated.

The nurse should have kept her knowledge to herself instead of sharing her wisdom when she has no evidence/diagnosis.

I’m sorry that I posted too quickly. Tests are always concerning but are designed to protect us. There are so many straightforward reasons for stomach problems. I’ve suffered from IBS for years and have had this test done a few times.

It’s understandable to be worried but this is a simple routine check done for all women who have bloating and digestive issues.
