Just noticed this from Doodle as I was posting. . Sweetpeasue have you ever tried taking basic pain meds regularly rather than only when the pain comes on.
I wondered about this too.

Sorry I’ve not been posting but I have been reading everything.
I’ve been low and avoiding people as much as possible. The weekend was difficult and I couldn’t face going to my group tonight. The atmosphere in the house is awful. I’ve hardly spoken all day. I’ve changed his bed, done the washing, cleaned the house, gone to supermarket and met a fairly new friend from choir for coffee. Didn’t want to go .but it was fine in the end.
Dh went into town to buy a refill for his pen.
I’ve been very tired since my weekend with dd. I think the drive and trying not to be a nuisance took it out of me.
Wyllow thanks for sharing. Please don’t cut yourself off from people.

Doodle You must be so tired after your full day. Plus the worry of your husband. I'm concerned for you. Regarding shoulder , I'm not saying this is your problem- but I think you may well be right about it being aftermath of op. When DH had his hip replacement he had such pain in shoulder , and was told it was probably positioning during op.
Hope tomorrow is more of a restful day for you . Thankyou for some info about painkillers and use. It's difficult to get right.
EllieAnne I thought your weekend must have been difficult. I understand the atmosphere in the house is so awful- I just don't know how to help in that respect. I really do believe that having coffee with friends, new or old, can def be helpful for you. It will help you stay in touch with people and detract from your home problems. You've done your best to help your DD and I'm sure she knows this. If she's struggling herself it must be difficult for her too but she will appreciate you visiting her.

Evening all, just caught up with everything. We went to our caravan at the weekend and came back last night. Weather not good, I can’t believe how awful it’s been. Pretty much the same everywhere I think. I’m still very tired. I’m ok in the mornings mostly but then my energy goes. Maybe I need to push myself a bit more.
HVDY sounds like you had a lovely family celebration. They obviously love you both very much and appreciate all the help you give. That’s lovely.
Doodle I’m glad you are recovering but sorry about the worried over your DH. It will be such a relief for you both when his op is over and you can both recuperate and move on with your lives. I’m sure your sons are a big help and comfort to you. Yes, now I’m retired I do plan to spend more time at my caravan- weather permitting!
Sweetpeasue I hope your pain has eased. Such a nuisance for you. I think you’ve done the right thing in booking a holiday. Like you say, you can take pain killers there if you need them. I’ve not been to the Lake District myself but I understand it’s beautiful. I’m sure it will do you both the world of good.
Scaredycat I hope your niece gets her op soon. So bad she has to wait. It must be a worry for all. I hope you are keeping well.

Wyllow I’m sorry things are so difficult for you. At least you are battling on and meeting your basic needs. Can you not reach out to your dear sister, she seems to have been there for you in the past and I’m sure she would be again. We are all here too of course. Stay strong. I was reminded of a phrase I heard on TV tonight and one which I’ve heard many times “this too shall pass”. Quite poignant and powerful I think.

Ellie Anne sorry things are particularly difficult. At least you have kept busy and I’m glad you met your friend. Are there others who you could meet up with too? Some sort of distraction would be good for you I’m sure.

Wyllow You have been through a lot, with your abusive ex. Don't let what he did/said drag you down. It's a shame you've cut ties with your Quakers meeting, but perhaps you can pick up with them again when you feel more like it. Keep posting, we all care here.

Candy The weather has been shocking. It hailed here a lot yesterday and was very windy indeed.
EllieAnne What a horrible situation at home. Good that you meet up with others, but does your husband ever go out or see friends?

It was DH's birthday yesterday so we went out for lunch. I was shivering all day, and slept all afternoon (with the heating on and 2 blankets). Last night, still feverish then woke 2am drenched in sweat (horrible). I had planned to see my brother, but he's gone to London with a friend who drives a lorry, so just as well. Hope ALL BDers have a decent day x

Candy Miserable weather isn't it? Hopefully it will change soon but no sign of it yet in forecast. We will be away next week so crossed fingers it's at least dry. Can't remember if you've had blood tests for iron levels .You always seem busy so maybe your overcompensating for your replacing your job? Hope you can get back to your caravan soon.
HVDY Aw you must have picked up a virus or something. Sounds absolutely awful. Hope it's a short lived thing and you start to feel better soon. No way should you be attempting visiting like that , you need to take it easy. It's horrible when you're shivering like that.
Might do your brother good to meet a friend. Hope you pick up soon. I can't take paracetamol if I need co-codamol for severe pain.

HVDY Hope you are beginning to feel a little better .

I'm so low - my bladder is driving me mad. Constant feeling of busting bladder and pressure pain going right down between bouts of bad pain.
I feel despairing and the letter received from the private Urologist I saw came today. He's only put what he told us, that it's not an area of his expertise but also he defers to Mr xxxxxx (last Urologist who is considered expert and leading Urologist in this area and did my 2nd Bladder distention) who doesn't think I have IC. I've already said here that the diagnosis criteria is a bit different here than it is for American Urological Association , which is why the leading Urologist here sent me to Pain Msnagement and believes I've Chronic Pelvic Pain.
Letter said one other person , a woman Urologist deals with IC and he has put a note in records for when I go to my NHS appt in June, to see her, though acknowledges this may not be possible.
I'm pretty sure she will only repeat what the senior leading one says anyway.

Managed to get out for a coffee but was in agony on way back. Severe pain now eased but extreme discomfort and mod pain in bladder going into urethra. Sorry if TMI.

I don't know where to turn but I'll try our GP, he's on tomorrow, so join queue and hope.

Ellie Anne Im glad you made the effort to meet up with your new friend especially after the weekend you’ve had. You sound tired. The time with your DD obviously took it out of you. Hope you get time for a beach walk in some sunshine soon.
Sweetpeasue been a full in day today getting ready for tomorrow. So much to sort out, Took DH most of the day to get his meds ready. DS 2 is coming with us and will spend the day with me. I will be glad of his company.
Sweetpeasue not surprised the pain brings you down. Is it possible for you to perhaps (maybe privately) see another urologist from a different area. Someone totally different who isn’t part of the same clinical group. Jhope you get to see your GPtommorrow.

Candy shame about your caravan weather. Do you have things there to do if the weather is bad. I always used to keep some paints in ours so I could do some watercolours on the wet day. (They always ended up in the bin 🤣🤣)

Scaredycat I have holidayed in Scotland before but I am travelling this time to the Lake District to see a dear friend and my son who lives in Preston.
It was worth the effort to have those lovely memories of your holiday with your daughter and SiL to look back on. Maybe you'll do it again, now you know you can.
I'm glad your sister is doing well, it's hard not to worry about children no matter what age they are.

Wyllow3 It's great that you were able to come and talk about how you feel. I couldn't improve on what Sweetpeasue has said to you, so very eloquently. All I will add is, I'm sorry you're not getting all the help you need, are you getting any help at the minute? It's good that you are taking care of the day to day stuff. You're very strong, please keep trying, you will come through this. Love and hugs. x

Sweetpeasue What a really lovely understanding post to Wyllow3. I could never express it so well. It wasn't "stupid rubbish stuff" at all.
Your holiday cottage sounds so peaceful, reminds me of one we stayed in near Ullswater. I love the Lake District. We've also travelled through Scotland as far as Inverness. The UK is full of interesting places.
I was hoping your pain from yesterday would have eased, but it seems worse. Bladder/urethra pain sounds extremely uncomfortable, just the thought of it, and nothing very hopeful in your urologist report. Perhaps a private one is worth trying, maybe your GP could advise. But at least he should be able to sort out better pain management. Did you see someone about pain management? I can't remember. It all seems to take so long. But June isn't too far away. Perhaps relaxing on holiday might help a little, I do hope so. I hope you get some ease tonight xx

Doodle- just to wish you all the best for tomorrow and hope that DH will be well enough to have his Op. You will have the comfort of your Sons company so will be in good hands. Take care of yourself and hope you manage some sleep tonight. Sending a caring hug.

EllieAnne- yet another difficult week for you- it must make you so tired not being able to be yourself at home - the one place that you should feel content. Glad you could meet your friend- and have someone to talk to.
Candy - roll on the better weather so you can enjoy more time in the caravan. I think maybe you are tired because you have worked so hard for so long. Maybe instead of pushing yourself you need to chill a little and take advantage of the extra time you have to relax when you can.
Nadateturbe- oh the Lake District is beautiful - how nice to have a friend who lives there. Glad you are seeing your son too.
My Sisters AC have problems both mental and physical and they all live very close to her- she is an unbelievable Mum and
The kindest person I know.But it doesn’t make for an easy life.

Scaredycat it's very difficult when your children have health problems. My sister is in this situation so I understand. And it can impact on your own health, so no it doesn't make for a great life. But you have to be
there for them. Your sister sounds like a great mum.

EllieAnne as you say the atmosphere in your home is awful. I can't believe your husband is happy with it either. Will he not discuss it? I do feel for you. And being tired and stressed about the visit isn't helping. I'm sure you did your best and your daughter appreciated you coming. It's nice that you've made a new friend, always helps to get out and meet people and hopefully the weather will improve soon and you can have some pleasant walks.

Candy It's nice to get back to the caravan, isn't it. Something to look forward to. You'll be able to stay for longer spells now.
Don't think I will though until the weather improves a lot. Its extremely cold and windy here in NI. Its got central heating but too cold to enjoy being there.
I might pop down just to check everything and get it ready, but we'll stay in a hotel.
I wonder are you tired because you're still doing a lot, perhaps need to take it easy for a while.
