Sweetpeasue I googled top urologists in UK. Of all of them they mainly concentrate on male urology. But found Miss Jean McDonald female urologist. It would cost you £250 first visit and she is in London . But you already mentioned paying to see private urologist. Perhaps she might be able to help you. I know it is a lot of money and if she could treat you it would be more money . Anyway if you Google her see what you think.

Sweet peas, I know how bad a simple water infection can be and how painful. I would definitely go to the leading Urologist
as she’s a woman she might be more emphatic, (sorry if that sounds sexiest) if she’s the top one, more knowledgeable, anything is worth a try. Good luck.

Going to son 1 today to do some housework . It’s an hours drive each way but I don’t mind.

SweetpeaSue What you describe sounds awful. I the painkillers work and that the pain eases off. It must drive you to despair at times. I do hope your holiday goes well.

I had a horrible night - my Oxygen level (I've got an Oximeter) was 90 % by 10pm. I ended up using DH's inhaler, which is only a preventative one but helped a bit. I've been up since 3am (am exhausted), rang GP at 8 - 24th in the queue! Requested a call back, and they rang 10mins later. Appointment 11am!

Hope ALL BDers manage to have a decent day. It's actually sunny here x

Quick one - saw the GP, who says it's a chest infection. Got antibiotics, and she's going to arrange a chest x-ray (not urgently), and I've got to book in for a lot of different blood tests.

Hope antibiotics work quickly and you soon get the tray. You must feel shattered.

GP thinks taking full doses of co-codamol for 2 or 3 dys might brake the cycle of constant pain.(circuit breaker). I asked about codeine so I could take paracetamol separately to see if that helps so got prescription. Thinks waiting for this new Urologist in June might be worth it and says she won't necessarily defer to the other 'leading' consultant. At end of say he's leaving it to me and will support me whatever I do. Just so tired at present and DH has bad headache again today.

Sweetpeasue maybe I'm being stupid saying this, but cocodamol contain paracetamol so be careful you don't overdose. But I agree, it's worth a try, taking them for a few days might help more.

I've just been to art, can't say I achieved much, but the company was good. I sat beside a friend who isn't sleeping well either and we just went at our own pace. Then we all went in to the cafe, put a few tables together and had coffee and chat. 😁

SweetpeaSue Thanks . Yes, I'm SO tired but have stayed awake all day, so hopefully will sleep later. I hope the new painkillers regime will work for you. You and your husband must both tired of having pains. Is he taking something for his headaches?

Don't worry , I realise that co-codamol has paracetamol in. Someone here suggested I might take paracetamol throughout the day and add codeine when needed, so thought I'd ask for some Codeine while there.

DH doesn't take anything for the headaches. They start with sudden harsh stabbing in one side of temples then end with a thick dull foggy head. GP sent expedite letter to Rheumatologist a month ago but his appt still not brought forward from July.

Whiff- that was a thoughtful thing to do for SweetPeaSue. You are such a kind person.
SweetPeaSue- I guess it’s worth trying what your GP suggests. A constant dose for a few days might do the trick. I know it’s not that simple but it’s worth a try. The stress of it all is wearing you out and DH worries about you too doesn’t he. How are his dizzy spells? When are you going to the Lake District? It might be just what you need to just enjoy the beauty and peace.
Nadateturbe- good to hear you,ve been to Art again- it doesn’t matter what you got done. It must have been so nice for you to see your friends and have a good old natter. Coincidentally my old Art friends contacted me this morning to arrange a coffee date. Since our lovely friend died our little group has sort of collapsed. So it will be good to have a catch up.
HVDY- glad you got to see the Doc- no wonder you felt poorly. She sounds like a thorough lady- hope the antibiotics get to work quickly.

This morning I had coffee with our eldest GD - she doesn’t work every day. I feel very lucky to have her near and she often asks to meet up. I often think how nice it would be if we could all have a coffee together- you have all become such a part of my life

Scaredycat What you say is so true and I do feel so tired because of it all. But I'm holding on for better days. Hope can be prior to belief perhaps . And maybe belief is faith. Crikey ,I' m getting a bit lost -- it must be the meds. I'm not going crazy, I promise. You are right DH does worry about me and I him. He's had 2 or 3 dizzy spells today. He's dropped a BP dose, as requested by GP , as his diastolic BP was low but doesn't seem to have made much difference yet.

It must be so special to meet with your DGD. She obviously loves it too to ask you . I've often thought how good it would be for us all to meet up. We are all connected aren't we.

Evening, didn’t get in yesterday as I met up with two friends yesterday evening which was nice so I’ve just read and caught up.
Nadaterturbe yes, I know what you mean about being too cold to go to your caravan. Ours is very cold too. They don’t retain heat well either. You can get them with what they call residential spec which means they are better insulated I think but ours isn’t like that. Hopefully it will be warmer soon. Sounds like you had a nice afternoon with your friend, it’s good to chat.
HVDY hope the antibiotics are working for you and you start to feel better very soon. Chubby chops is beautiful, she must be such a joy to you, as will your other grandchildren I’m sure.
Sweetpeasue so your pain continues, that’s such a shame. You must be absolutely fed up with it all. I really hope the new pain killers work for you. I know London seems a long, long way away but it might be something to consider? Years ago, when my son was poorly and we weren’t getting anywhere, my GP suggested London and I felt exactly the same, some years later, we ended up there anyway and I truly regret with all my heart not taking him there sooner as it was the turning point for him. I feel guilty that in that intervening time he got worse and it was my fault because it seemed impossible. It really isn’t and you do deserve better treatment. It’s something you could put on the back burner for now, at least until you’ve seen the other Consultant in June. I’m not sexist either, but I would honestly prefer to see a woman too. I hope you are feeling better this evening. Very kind of Whiff to research for you. Hope your DH is feeling better too.
ScaredycatSounds like you too had a nice meet up with your GD. She must think a lot of you. It’s nice when they give up their time to do that as young people do lead busy lives. She sounds like a nice young lady.

I saw someone today, is only once a fortnight but she took me out briefly. Not talking to anyone else yet. To all: how loving and supportive all are to each other Night night BD's.

Sorry to tired to read posts tonight but will try and do better tomorrow. DH has had op and is in recovery. They are keeping him there overnight for monitoring and he has a nice kind nurse hovering over him and checking on him all night. No visitors allowed where he is but they let me see him for 5 minutes and he was pale but smiling. We don’t know how op went or if it has improved things for him. I expect the consultant may be round tomorrow and we can find out more then. Sleep tight all x

Wyllow it’s good you can share a few more words with us. I’m glad you have some contact with someone and a trip out even if only for a little while x

Sweetpeasue I think most of us would prefer a female doctor when it comes to personal stuff. I think you’ve been suffering far too long so don’t rule out anything at this point. Maybe the London doctor is worth holding in reserve depending on how you get on with the one in June.
