The suffix "Itis" isn't infection, but inflammation. Myositis is usually an autoimmune condition, so steroids are prescribed.

deaneke - sorry to hear this. I was told a long time ago, that any illness ending with ‘itis’ is an ‘inflammatory’ disease. Yes,I too hope your DH gets to see a Specialist, soon.

I can’t help sorry, but do know that an itis means a sort of infection , which may not be of any help at all.

Can’t really help, but I think it will depend on which type, but there is quite a lot of information to Google.
I’m hope your DH sees a Specialist soon.

My husband has been recently diagnosed with Myositis.
There are several types. We have yet to see a specialist.
Has anyone any experience of this? Thanks
