I take mine as Michael Mosley recommended. I buy ground turmeric then mix it with black pepper and full fat yogurt.
It is fat soluble so fat free anything won’t do.
In the tests that he was involved in it showed a much better result than supplements.
It’s much cheaper too but it is an acquired taste. I have mine just before breakfast so the taste doesn’t linger.
Anything that actually has an effect on your body may be contraindicated with some medications. If unsure then check with your Dr. or pharmacist.

Yes. I have to be careful not to use it in food that my partner eats although I don’t think it’s as dangerous in food.

DH used to use turmeric and found it very good for his joints. However, he has stopped using it as it can increase the risk of dangerous bleeding if taken by someone on blood thinners which he is now on.

I’ve just received the turmeric with a height curcumin content so started taking it today. They’re capsules so I can use them to make milky drinks or add them to food. They certainly look different to the turmeric capsules I buy from Holland and Barrett. Much darker in colour. I’ve also sent away for some turmeric tablets, again with a height curcumin content ( I prefer taking it with food or drinks but sometimes get out of the habit of taking it if it doesn’t fit in with what I’m eating). It’ll be interesting to see how my arthritis is after I’ve been taking it for a while. Having said that, if the weather warms up my arthritis will probably improve anyway.

I’ve taken turmeric for several years. Instructed to stop taking it prior to surgery I found a noticeable increase in pain which eased again once I could recommence turmeric.

When I have muscle aches I take 1 tsp in water everyday, I use the food spice prep. It certainly seems to help ease the pain, better than paracetemol.I'm having a good summer but would look for high curcumin supplements if my achey legs / fatigue recurred.(as it probably will)

Turmeric that you sprinkle on food has no effect as it does not contain enough curcumin, you need 500mg twice a day to have an effect.

Research has shown it does have positive benefits but it has to be taken every day over a long period of time.

I have been taking it for about a year and use far less painkillers than I used to.

You’re right. I’ve just sent away for some that has a high curcumin content. I do use the Holland and Barrett capsules along with cooking with turmeric powder but I don’t think they have a high curcumin content.

I took a turmeric supplement every day for three years. It didnt make the slightest difference. I cancelled my regular order in April this year. I'm aware that some people seem to find it helps their pain, so all you can do is give it a go.

I find turmeric helps with the pain but not the stiffness

I have just started taking Glucosamine complex from BetterVits - says to take three - but too soon to tell if they help

I take Glucosamine complex with MSM and Turmeric by BetterVits which are supposed to be very pure. I take one capsule a day and they really seem to help..

My arthritis has been very bad recently but I restarted taking turmeric and I’m currently pain free. It might, of course, just be due to a change in the weather. I make it into golden paste and add it to smoothies or soups. Also realised that I can sprinkle the powder into scrambled egg which is a good way of taking it as it provides heat, black pepper and fat which is needed to enable the body to absorb it. You shouldn’t take it if you’re on blood thinners.

I have recently started to get knee pain, my Doctor gave me some ibuprofen gel but she also recommended Turmeric as it’s very anti inflammatory . She suggested buying it fresh, grating it and infusing into a tea. But I can’t find it fresh so I have purchased some turmeric liquid in capsule form. They arrived today so have only taken one.

A lot of people here in Oz swear by it. I can’t say ,having not tried it myself. One thing that works for me are New Zealand green lipped mussels. All aches and pains miraculously disappear if I have a serve! I looked it up and found that ,yes, there is a connection. Problem is, you can’t always get them.

Does anyone have any thoughts on taking a turmeric supplement for knee pain?
My knees are becoming painful by the end of the day and going upstairs can be difficult, I have a small dog and we go walking everyday so I do get excercise,🧐🧐🧐
