Thanks for sharing your story and advice. I've been back to GP. Couldn't stand much more. No sleep so much discomfort. Guess what yes I do have a UTI probably due to the fact I had catheter in for two weeks after op (not fun). I'm now on more antibiotics. Good luck to your friend. Our bodies are all very different. Hopefully she will not experience the same problems as me. I do think as my prolapse was so bad and I had a lot of repair work done as well, it certainly hasn't helped matters.

It’s early days Hellsna - but I do know about the misery of UTI. For almost 2 years, on and off, I had UTIs, on an off Antibiotics. The last time i had it was some time last year. The GP advised Trimethoprim for 3 weeks. And advised to drink lots of water, which I do now, when I remember 😂
You have just had major surgery.
Incidentally, my good friend is due to have a hysterectomy, due to prolapse. I won’t mention your issues. It might scare her

Thanks fir your advice Grandmafrench. Yes maybe I am expecting too much so quickly. I just feel rotten and suppose I thought I would feel on the mend by now. Got my follow op appt in 4 weeks so will chat to my surgeon again

You have had major surgery and are just 3 weeks post op ? Think what your poor body has gone through! I can understand that you are worried that 'things' don't seem to be operating as usual, but you really should give yourself time to rest and recover from surgery. Back to normal used to be around 6 months, so try not to put any pressure on yourself to get back to normal in double-quick time. Your Surgeon will be the one to ask about any ongoing worries or concerns you have when you have your post-op check. He'll be able to advise or further treat anything of concern. Until then, as long as you are able to pee and without pain - and you've checked with your GP that you don't have a UTI., I would think you should give yourself a lot more time to heal and for things to settle.
